• Full P&L responsibility for the company’s business, which comprises promoting Electrical Cables (Ducab and other brands) and related accessories.
• Developed new strategy for business and added product lines from around the world, having synergy with main business.
• Established relevant operational and financial processes for growth and expansion with industry focus.
• Clients include all major international and local infrastructure building contractors, Oil & Gas companies and network of retailers.
• General Manager position reporting to the Board of Directors. The company does retail, wholesale, projects and export of furniture.
• Launched Office Systems Division and established a separate Brand Identity for this business
• Negotiated exclusive dealership arrangements with major suppliers including Kimball (USA), Matteograssi (Italy), Danona (Spain), Sokoa (France), Hyundai (S Korea) and Lamex (Hongkong)
• Built up prestigious clientele in UAE and executed projects in African and GCC countries for complete office furnishing
• Developed multi-lingual Brand advertisements, promotional literature and sales tools
• Set up large showrooms, over 50, 000 sq ft of retail space in GCC.
• Visited leading exhibitions worldwide - Cologne, Milan, Copenhagen, Madrid, Chicago, High Point (US), Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur - to source new products
• Started as General Manager Manufacturing and then appointed General Manager Marketing
• Directed the activities of a large team of Marketing, Sales and service personnel spread over 28 branches for achieving unprecedented growth and sales of Office Furniture equivalent to QAR 100 Million.
• Launched Steelcase products in India. Steelcase is the largest contract furniture company in the world
• Managed the manufacturing plant which produces wooden and metal furniture worth QAR 60 Million per annum and employed over 600 persons.
• Introduced Demand based manufacturing, leading to dramatic reduction of inventories, quicker order fulfilment and increased sales.
• Initiated manufacturing in small lots on CNC machines and started component sub-contracting for faster production.
• Joined this multidisciplinary multinational after graduation. Worked at various locations in different functional areas, starting as a sales executive, promoted to Branch Manager and then Sr. Manager Sales, (appliances).
• Promoted sales through direct sales force and dealers.
• Launched new products across the country through road shows and launch conferences.
• Achieved an annual turnover of QAR 450 million in sales for Appliances Division.
• Established a new branch of the company at Jabalpur, which became the highest achiever in the second year of operation.
