Basic and detail engineering related to material handling systems for new projects, expansion and development jobs in the plant. Work involves reviewing the schemes, technical proposals, discussion with suppliers, preparation of contract documents (technical part) general arrangement drawings, supervising execution at site, coordination with plant operations etc.
Support existing plants of Holcim group in South Asia (mainly Ambuja, ACC, Holcim Srilanka and Bangladesh) in Material handling section viz. troubleshooting, improving operational efficiency, spillage and dust control etc., imparting training to develop expertise within the plants.
Worked in Capex Projects dept., the role was basic and detail engineering for large and medium projects, preparation of feasibility study reports, tenders, review of offers, finalizing technical concepts, introduce new technologies etc.
Worked as Lead Mechanical Engineer for chemical / industrial projects as well as Specialist Engineer for material handling systems. Work involved technical support and coordination within various departments / Client / vendors, tracking the progress of the project, manhour estimation and monitoring.
Engineering, selection, and sizing of material handling equipments like belt conveyors / feeders, stacker, reclaimer, crusher, screen, dust control equipments, silo extraction and loading equipments.
The job involved preparation of enquiry, follow-up, comparative statements, cost analysis, flow sheets, letter of intents etc.
