Utilities inspectors check on different systems and products to make sure everything has been built according to local, state, or federal codes and regulations. They examine the machinery and facilities housing utilities and services, such as water, sewer, electricity, and natural gases. Most inspectors participate in routine inspections. For example, water processing equipment must be fully examined periodically to verify water quality.
Responsible for ensuring the safety of facilities and the stability of components and equipment that support daily operational functions. Utility inspectors inspect utility tools and equipment, conduct preventive maintenance, and identify inconsistencies for immediate repairs or replacement. They also handle the installation of new equipment and machinery, requiring them to have an excellent analysis of schematics and blueprints for accuracy.
o Check all on going work phase in accordance with Approved Drawings. Review the company project quality plan all activities if any implement, generating QA/QC manual, project quality plan and Project Specification.
o Conduct joint inspection with the client for final approval of the work phase prior to proceeding the subsequent work items
o Quality Control of the work in accordance to contract requirements
o Supporting QA/QC Manager to make sure that quality risks are correctly assessed.
o Developing and Maintenance of quality standards that apply to onsite construction work, ensuring proper implementation.
o Reviewing and approving inspections, test, plans and quality control plans from client/consultant.
o Planning and Coordination of QA/QC activities
o Quality Control of the work in accordance to contract requirements
o Supporting QA/QC Manager to make sure that quality risks are correctly assessed.
o Developing and Maintenance of quality standards that apply to onsite construction work, ensuring proper implementation.
o Reviewing and approving inspections, test, plans and quality control plans from client/consultant.
o Reviewing and approving the sub-contractors’ quality documentation, and implementing audits.
o Identification, analysis and resolution of problems and issues with quality assurance and control.
o Controlling the project audit program
o Providing advice to the Project Management on Quality Management Issues.
o Conduct site lay-out and elevation control survey prior to executing preceding works
o Prepare manpower, plant and construction schedules
o Prepare all monthly reports (target expenses and accomplishment).
o Prepare request for Inspection to be Submitted to QC
o For Pouring Concrete and Soil Test
o Supervise manpower distribution to their respective works.
o Supervise heavy equipment operators for earthworks.
o Coordinate subcontractors for backfilling as per specifications and proper scheduling and inter-phase of works
o Perform Materials Testing and Quality Control works
o Prepare weekly look ahead planning for materials requisition approval and purchasing
o Taking field sampling together with the Consultant / Inspector for testing of structural fill, road base, and concrete materials in strict accordance with the standards and specifications
o Coordinate with the Consultant Inspectors regarding sampling and testing of materials. And coordinate Site Engineer for any activities to assist in the site project.
o Conduct inspection of delivered materials for soil and steel bar works
o Responsible in controlling the quality of works for earthworks activities in embankment.
o Monitoring for daily activities in concrete crushing in Laboratory for 7 days and 28 days required in the contract of the Project.
o Supervision of construction activities such as waterproofing works, backfilling of unit wall and implementation in the construction as per plan approved and specification required in the site.
