Review of scope from the need statement/functional specification & business case. Preparation of Project Charter, project schedule, project management plan. Organize Site visits with engineering, review & getting approval of field site visit reports, approval of design base memorandum. Preparation of internal financial approvals. Getting all necessary permitting and licenses.
Participating in engineering reviews, arranging engineering documents for approvals & major equipment specifications. Getting approval of all drawings & calculation for construction to start construction, contract negotiations, materials dispatch, site management, testing & commissioning.
Ensuring contractual obligations with the client/Vendor are carried out in accordance with terms of the contract. Managing scope changes;
Producing regular reports on project status, finances and schedule;
Identifying and resolving complex project problems throughout the project life cycle,
Following proper escalation procedures when required;
Advocating the usage of a compliance with all of SNC’s and the clients; policies and procedures;
Ensuring that project deliverables are in accordance with all applicable codes and standards;
Demonstrating a commitment to safety, Environment, Quality assurance and Quality control,
Facilitating ongoing communication with the client/Vendor and ensuring responsiveness to issues/requires.
Managing client expectations and negotiating towards successful out comes;
*Project Initiation & Start-up :- Identifying the requirements & need for the project, developing scope of work, Establishing project goals and objectives, Determining project risk level, strategy, Identifying various project stakeholders, Developing a project resource list, requirements & tools, Obtaining approval for the project plan, and Developing a project charter, approval of the project budget.
*Project Planning:- Appointing of various project team members and defining their project assignments, developing the project WBS, preparing the project scope baseline, Assessing the risks in the project and defining alternative mitigation strategies, Establishing a project baseline including schedule, budget, list of deliverables, Quality standards and monitoring tool, conducting a project kickoff meeting.
*Project execution:- Assigning work to each project team member with clear communications of their deliverables, roles and responsibilities, Selecting suppliers/subcontractors and establishing appropriate/necessary work contracts with each supplier/subcontractor with clear definition of the scope of their deliverables, prices, delivery schedule, warranties and making all legal/contractual terms and conditions, establishing procedures for issues reporting and resolution, and change management.
*Project Monitoring and Control:- Establish progress based on objective deliverables, monitoring periodically the project status. Measure and check schedule by critical path method and cost. Identify corrective actions for leading the project according to the base line. Preparation of project review documents for managements meetings like sales plan, invoicing plan, forecast cost, cost to come, revenue targets, risk & opportunities.
*Project Close-out:- Obtaining all necessary review, acceptance certifications, ensuring that all costs have been recognized and invoices have been paid, and financial closure has been applied.
Independently handled substation projects from green field to the completion & handing over of the project in turnkey basis up to 09MUSD sales value projects in India for 400kV/220kV AIS & GIS substation projects.

-Draft & submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
-Negotiate where required with relevant seniors/managers for the availability of required staff.
-Set & continually manage project expectations with team members & other stakeholders.
-Delegate tasks & responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
-Identify & resolve issues & conflicts within the project team.
-Risk Management processes of Qualitative risk analysis, Quantitative risk analysis, Risk response planning and Risk monitoring and control.

Basically I was involved in designing of layouts, SLD, clearance diagram, short circuit fault current analysis, earthing calculation, switchyard illumination system, control room building lighting, control room building arrangements, bus bar system design etc for 400/220/132 kV AIS substation projects.
