Dear Sir/Madam.
I am currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Dayananda Sagar University (DSU). Before joining DSU, I was a Post-doctoral Researcher at Mizuta Laboratory, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, 1 Chome-1 Asahidai, Nomi, Ishikawa 923-1211 under Prof. Hiroshi Mizuta. My current work focuses on the development of graphene based sensors using Nano electronic mechanics (NEM) technology. I am a scientist with focus on socially relevant translational research and convergent technologies. I obtained my Bachelor of Science Honors (B.Sc. Hons) degree followed by Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Chemistry from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), India. I completed my Ph.D. in the area of Plasmonics, Bioprocessing and Analytical Research under BSR Fellowship (UGC-India) from SSSIHL in 2017. During this period, I have played an active role in the development of Microbial Bioprocessing Laboratory and Plasmonic laboratory in the department. I have developed skills in the isolation and culturing of microbes and extraction of cellulolytic enzymes from them and in performing ELISA for different biomarkers. I have also worked on development of plasmonics technology and microbes fortified biosorbents based analytical methods for efficient integrated bioprocessing. Following my Ph.D. program, I worked as Research Associate (from December, 2017 to August, 2020) on a biomedical research project titled - “ANIRVID: Development of a cellphone based point-of-care device to quantify biomarkers for perinatal depression in women during pregnancy and after delivery” funded by TATA Trusts in the STAR Laboratory, Central Research Instruments Facility (Department of Chemistry, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh-515134) India. I have also worked as Research Associate in the Department of Chemistry, SSSIHL on a biomedical research project titled “REsCUE Device: Rapid Estimation of COVID-19 based on Ultrasensitive Emission Detection”. The main objective of the project was to deliver a point-of-care, mobile health diagnostic device for ultrasensitive identification of selected COVID-19 virus antigen and relevant antibodies in real time clinical samples using aptamer systems studied on Surface Plasmon-Coupled Emission SPCE platform. This will enable screening of huge populations in India in near real time. My current research interests include the bioprocessing & fermentation and synthesis of low cost nanomaterials, thin films for biomedical applications using agricultural biomass, Plasmonics-SPCE, Biostatistics, and Clinical & Bio-Medical Research. I have 17 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, 16 conference papers and authored 1 book. I have been guiding and teaching M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D graduates in their experiments and laboratory practices in analytical chemistry.
