SENIOR PRODUCTION ENGINEER at Petronas
  • Malaysia
  • September 2018 to March 2022

Execution Team Leader for Installation of Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe (RTP) in Oil and Gas Wells (WI, Oil and Gas Wells) -Provided low-cost strategic solution by using RTP technology to restore idle wells back in a safe and cost-effective method without pulling out existing completions. This can be achieved by utilizing Coil tubing unit, which enables fitting in locations half the size of a workover rig.

• Provided expert advice on improvement opportunities & applications of new technologies such as Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe, SolidClenz, Robust Solid Dissolver, Grafted Bentonite (RPM) to the asset teams.

• Identified workover/well stimulation candidates in multi-discipline team well reviews. Ensured all the technical activities are in line with the HSE policies and procedures.

• Conducted engineering experiments and mockup/yard tests to capture associated risks and improved or modified completion equipment, procedures and offshore deployment operations.

• Evaluated, recommended and supervised production, completion, well stimulation and well intervention engineering solutions to improve well productivity and assisted in the implementation of new technology.

• Assessed costs and estimated the production capabilities and economic value of oil and gas wells to evaluate the economic viability of potential completion installation.

• Planned, wrote, and coordinated the execution of well intervention programs at the offshore rig site with a strong commitment to HSE and operational safety.

• Followed PETRONAS governance processes by leading the peer reviews, Subsurface Value Assurance Committee, Well Technical Assurance team, Malaysian Petroleum Management review and other quality assurance activities related to completions, well stimulation and well intervention engineering

• Provided offshore rig site support as company man during execution of stimulation operations and installation of completions hardware by utilizing Coil tubing unit.

• Took ownership and provided full support to ensure timely and effective delivery of production, completion, well stimulation and well intervention engineering projects

SENIOR PRODUCTION ENGINEER at CHEVRON CORPORATION, NORTH AMERICA
  • October 2012 to August 2016

Managed and provided technical supports for enhancement of the base production through asset/ reservoir management, new projects, wellbore management (optimizing ESP, SRPs, plunger lift).
•Recommended and ensured the safest and the most cost-effective methods of optimization were utilized, through well surveillance, monitoring well pump performances, and troubleshooting etc.
•Reviewed, assessed and implemented workover, recompletion and well intervention operations during the planning and operational phases at the onshore rig site for numerous wells and implemented management strategies to control cost and enhanced profitability by exceeding the production targets.
•Monitored and manage the well integrity process ensuring the wells are operated within their design limits and facilitating risk assessments.
•Completed more than 90 major minor well works including artificial lift selection, frack solutions, and new technology implementation
•Reviewed, evaluated and executed well stimulation opportunities at the onshore rig site by successfully using acidizing through packer; acidizing using rock salt or ball sealers; PinPoint Injection (PPI), BLUESPARK® technology, StimGun propellant etc. Also, performed and reviewed recompletion task by finding uphole potentials by utilizing hydraulic fracking; acid frack; perf and Gas Gun etc.
•Electrical Submersible pump: - Designed/reviewed ESP sizing based on PROSPER modelling. Experienced with various ESP modifications to achieve maximum run life under various adverse downhole conditions. Operated ESPs under different setting methods to optimize and maximize production without sacrificing well reliability. Also, developed real-time monitoring system
•Performed lookbacks on all well activities for the asset and shared the results with management by explaining the cost-effective solutions to improve production.

SENIOR PRODUCTION ENGINEER at BRITANNIA OPERATOR LIMITED
  • Great Britain (UK)
  • October 2011 to October 2012

Worked hand in hand with Conoco operations team on daily production engineering activities for condensate gas wells including daily reporting, well monitoring, allocation, surveillance and troubleshooting.
•Devised strategies to maximize value over the life of field with appropriate use of IPM modelling. Managed contractors and Conoco engineers during Re-perforation Campaign through candidate selection & optimization.
•Provided technical support to onshore cross functional team and travelled offshore when required to assist the team based in offshore.
•Conducted direct business critical systems reviews and quantified business risks associated with asset such as, optimized shut in and production schedules reducing LPO due to “condensate banking effects” etc.
•Recommended and applied new technology to achieve performance improvement- Focal point for the Velocity String and Capillary String installation campaigns, Foamer chemical skid installation, comingled dual wellhead separation project for backpressure reduction across the pipeline, etc.
•Coached & assisted peer engineers (Chevron/Conoco) in understanding the PROSPER & GAP workflow and then coached how to construct PROSPER models (built all 52 PROSPER models from scratch). Also wrote Britannia Integrated Asset Modeling (IAM) workflow document.
•Mentored offshore PE to implement optimum and achievable production strategies based on the equipment availability, reservoir condition and flare constraint.
