Primarily MS SQL Server DBA but also administer Oracle and Sybase Databases. Data Modeling, Database Design, Implementation and System Administration using Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012. • Maintenance of around 400 databases between Production, QA, Development.
• Pro Active DB Maintenance. Automate daily maintenance activity and monitor for various alerts on the Database.
• Install SQL Server, create databases, maintain maintenance jobs, and create and maintain documentation for team processes. Setup various High Availability solutions like Clustering and Mirroring/ Log shipping as required.
• Work closely with the SAN Administrators to ensure optimal performance for the storage
• Creating and maintaining scripts for monitoring and development purposes.
• Performance tuning applications and servers through baselines, DMVs, and traces. Propose fixes including indexes, code re-writes and hardware upgrades.
• Work with application teams to identify needs for new applications, build the environment, secure, and test.
• Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012- backups, SQL Server Agent job creation and maintenance, troubleshooting real-time performance problems and proactive performance tuning. Working with organizations backup solution to ensure each application’s RTO.
• Coding T-SQL stored procedures, functions and triggers.
• Implementing a virtual machine consolidation project to ensure SQL Licensing costs are kept to a minimum.
In charge of End-to-End delivery of a customized ERP product from a Dubai based development team for Al Muzaini Exchange. The IT manager had stepped down during my hire and I was asked to take over the entire infrastructure responsibilities, which I successfully have done in the past year with through study of relevant pain areas. I am to oversee the setups of the required infrastructure is in sync with the required development needs as well as ensure the DR site is functioning as required. Provide designs for new development module at a database and front-end level.
