Health and Environment (SHE) and Sustainability policies, legislation, regulations and report on their
sustainability performance to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and implement programs and strategies that measure, mitigate and monitor sustainability risks
and opportunities within Absaʼs operations.
• Set annual Safety, Health and Environment targets for Absa Bank Ghana.
• Prepare and report on annual sustainability performance report for Absa Ghana to management, board
and the group.
• Evaluate Sustainability section of corporate credit application to ensure that target client company
complies with applicable environment and social (E&S) requirements (Achieve through due diligence,
such as site visits, collection of necessary E&S documentation (e.g., certificates and authorizations),
and preparation of E&S due diligence reports.
• Ensure that appropriate environmental representations, warranties, and covenants are incorporated in
each loan or investment agreement.
• Supervise portfolio (financial investments like stocks, bonds, commodities) projectsʼ on-going
compliance with the applicable requirements on a regular basis.
• Ensure that the Bank's Sustainability strategy is articulated to internal and external stakeholders
through key communication channels.
• Lead environment and social impact assessment for projects undertaken by the bank.
• Lead auditor for workplace (including warehouses) and contractor/service providers internal SHE
audits.
• Coordinate inspections/inquiries held by statutory bodies, regulators and supervise inspections and
audits by external assessors, auditors and the regional team.
