 Oil Field Chemicals Plant & Process Oils and Lubricants Plant:

My responsibility includes setting up the above two New Chemicals Downstream Plants integrated with the existing Petrochemical Complex.

Following strategy adopted and executed the project:
• Identified the products, feedstocks, fuel, technology/ know how and a ball park cost estimate followed by a high-level market opportunity assessment.
• A detailed Market Study to apprehend the products supply and demand in various regions.
• Finalized the Projects Product slate based on the market study, end users’ history of consumption, secondary research, market literature, conferencing and journals etc.,
• Financial model of the project and sensitivity analysis.
• Technology Selection/ Product formulation, know how development, evaluation of JV partnership options
• Identified the availability of Feedstock Source and its location in the region
• Project Conceptual design, plant layout with all the required equipment and basic design, an approximate Capex (+/- 40%).
• Product Development and Prequalification: Identified the local laboratories to conduct the lab scale product development and initiated the products pre-qualifications with the potential customers.
• Project Proposal approved and proceeded to the next execution phases of engineering.

 Formulation and know-how Development Project with M/s Lubricant Market Solutions BV for Process Oils and Lube Oils. My role included development of Project Scope of work, tentative schedule, resource allocation, deliverables, Monitoring and Control during the project execution.

 Lab scale Product Development Project for Process Oils & Lube Oils Plant and Oil Field Chemicals Plant with Jubail Industrial College. My role included development of Project Scope of work, tentative schedule, resource allocation, deliverables, Monitoring and Control during the project execution.

 A Feasibility Study to analyze the cost benefit of on-site products drumming vs sub contract the drumming.

 Developed the Cost of Production Model for each product of Farabi Downstream Company.

 Successfully completed the Pre-qualification of Farabi Downstream products prior to startup of the commercial plant.

 Commissioning of Pilot Plant facility (2 Ton), coordinated for the smooth handover of the plant from Project Engineering to R&D (End user).

 Designed the Company Broacher for all the new products. Part of marketing team, Responsible for all the arrangements required to participate in the commercial events like GPCA, EPCA, etc.

 Developing the Production Plans according to the market demand and meeting the organization targets.

• Jazan Refinery and Terminal Project (FEED); Developed Block Flow Diagrams, PFDs, P&IDs, Heat and Material balances, Hydraulic calculations, Equipment data sheets for Refinery Utilities Nitrogen, Air and Steam System.

• “Smart Water Injection Field Plant”, FEED stage Project of Saudi Aramco Uthmaniyah Water Injection Plant. Project will increase annual oil production about 2% from specific wells.

• A Feasibility Study for Closed Drain System at Saudi Aramco Aindar Gas and Oil Separation Plants (GOSP) -2. Objective was to explore possibility of various options to be used as motive force to move the left over oil inventory from equipment and pipes to inventory vessel during T&I.

• Designed (FEED) Oxygen Free Closed Drain System (CDS) for 29 Gas Oil Separation Plants (GOSPs) for Saudi Aramco. Identified potential locations of Oil and Oily water drain on all the GOSPs and connected it to CDS header (new) and transfer it to liquid transfer drum and subsequent liquid accumulation drum.

• Designed (FEED) Disinfected Water Supply System from the Water Storage Tank to multiple locations at 44 Gas and Oil Separation Plants (GOSPs) for Saudi Aramco.

• Worked on Detailed Design Project to install Flare Gas Recovery System (FGRS) at Safaniya Plant for Saudi Aramco.

• Designed (Detail Design) Flare System at Abqaiq Road Oil Plant (Saudi Aramco). Performed Flare Relief Load Calculations, Flare Radiation Zone Calculations and Flare Header Pressure Loss Calculations (API-RP 521, API-RP 520).

• Performed conceptual design to develop Drag Reducing Agent injection system at Shaybah GOSP-II.

• Designed (FEED) Irrigation Water Supply System of Hadeed (SABIC). Performed Hydraulic Calculations to Establish Accurate System Design.

• Converted Process Licensor’s P&IDs into KBR standards and then into Smart Plant P&IDs. Planned the Project, Coordinated with Client, Conducted Quality Checks (QAQC) and successfully completed Project ahead of Schedule.

• Investigated availability of various utilities options in proximity for Construction Phase of RTIP. Evaluated capabilities of identified potential options and generated the block flow diagrams showing the plan of supply.

• Identified appropriate land fill sites and coordinated with Local Environmental Companies.

o Designed High Speed Diesel (HSD) supply system from Refinery Production Plants to Tank Farm and from Tank form to dispatch facilities. All ARL in house design calculations approved and project commissioned successfully

o Designed and conducted evaluation to replace a Spiral type exchanger with Shell and Tube type Heat exchanger at Heavy Crude Unit

o Participated in the Hydro skimming of reactor catalyst of Naphtha Hydrotreater section of Reformer as Team member of Technical services department

o Developed an Inventory Planning and Ordering Model of Refinery Essential Chemicals for continual supply of Refinery Operation.

o Reduced Sodium Hypochlorite Consumption in Cooling Towers by 50% by conducting a successful test run in coordination with utilities operations department.

o Plant Monitoring - Daily monitoring of Plant Key Parameters, Diagnosis and Root Cause Analysis leading to plant troubleshooting, Test runs, Monitoring and Optimizing chemicals usage at plants
