• Supervision- plan, supervise and co-ordinate all activities in the assigned area and make recommendations of the data analysis in order to fully understanding and visualize pore structural distribution, including porosity, permeability, pore volume, pore size, pore aspect ratios, and surface area of the rock.
• Training- train and develop the assigned Local staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
• Development- develop a new method and/or tools to improve enhance oil recovery a n d understanding of reservoir c haracterization such as special core analysis, fluid sampling, fluid dynamics, reservoir description, and management procedure and development.
• Operation- operate analytical techniques to integrate measurements at all scales for measurements of the porosity, permeability mercury porosimetry and nitrogen adsorption of the of rock to fully characterize the rock at all probes scales.
• Budgets - provide input for preparation of the Department/ section budgets and assist in the implementation of
the approved Budget and work plans to deliver section objectives to support department and cost control.
• Recommendations- make recommendations / presentations to senior management as required!
• Supporting- supported other departments as required.
• Lead and/or provide technical support and guidance in data analysis for characterization/ investigations materials and development teams techniques in variety of analysis.
• Operate characterization techniques such as advanced SEM and samples preparation.
• Collect and analyse statistical data from characterization methods.
• Perform and design the experiment to validate the accuracy of characterization methods as well as test limitations and strengths of each instrument.
• Design and execute core experiments, interpret results, and making plans to additional experiments in a timely manner to solve assigned problems of moderate complexity.
• Writing report for outcomes of all the experiments in a manner consistent with practices and governing procedures, as applicable, which may include significant contributions to release testing and characterization materials studies.
• Support departmental / site audits as directed by manager/supervisor as necessary and within skills and ability capacity, undertake additional activities as assigned by the scientific supervisor / Line Manager.
• Production of appropriate safety documentation e.g., SOPs, CoSHH, risk assessments to ensure best practice.
• Lead and manage petrophysics group within the school.
• Provide strategic advice and guidance on communications processes and procedures to internal and external customers.
• Providing comprehensive professional support to the petroleum teaching programs within the school of Engineering.
• Providing support and guidance to staff and students across all activities associated with research programs.
• Gathering and analyzing data to inform decisions, establishing basic trends and patterns in data and creating reports as appropriate.

• Learned how to select good data Properties from the oil industry.
• Determine Initial Oil in Place (IOIP) and Oil recovery factor.
• Estimate the Reserve by Producing Decline Curve Analysis (DCA).
• Estimate the porosity and permeability using optical microscopy and electron microscope.
• Analysis the data comes from field and select the good properties to calculate the stage and flow within rock
• Supported reservoir engineer on how to estimate porosity and permeability by using mercury injection capillary pressure method.
