Expert (Infrastructure Engineering). After merging Platform and Storage
teams and highlighting the need to improve the Infrastructure Delivery and Engineering process and
control to senior management, I was given the lead role to manage Infrastructure Risks, Infrastructure
product Lifecycle Management (LCM), Infrastructure architecture designing, Identify data quality
issues within CMDB (Assets Management) and recommendations to the
Platform Team. Managing a team of 7 VMWare, Unix, Linux and
Windows Server and AD Administrators, responsible for Servers, Operating Systems, Active
Directory administration and maintain users credentials and privileges.

Key Achievements:
o Introduced Virtualization and migrated all physical servers to VMs.
o Planned and migrate complete Data Center from old location to new location without
interrupting the business.
o Provide consultancy to application owners for environment sizing to ensure and deliver
required servers and Operating Systems as per current standard (Buy Products).
o Balancing BAU and project work to ensure application critical milestones were achieved
as per agreed SLA.
o Design and implement Cluster within and across sites and develop application and Database
interfaces to ensure all application components are available in case of Server/Site failover.
o Migrated all servers from Solaris Operating Systems to RHEL and decommissioned/
retire Solaris.
o Manage DR sites (in region and out of region) and lead DR teams across IT during DR
Drill and testing and achieved agreed OLA and SLA.
o Worked with (and without) Hardware and Software vendors to discuss implementing OS,
Security controls to ensure compliance with regulations controls as per the guidelines of
financial organizations.
o Establish relationship with vendors to achieve at great success and reduce cost on
Products, Licensing and maintenance.
o Active member to introduced and successfully implemented DCAB (Deployment
Change Authority Board) to collaborate and minimize impact of any change within
Infrastructure and across IT. Chaired DCAB for couple of years and also deputy
chairman of DCAB during the absence of DCAB chairman.
Operations. Managing a team of 8 OpenVMS, UNIX, Linux,
Windows and AD Administrators.
Key Achievements:
o Migrated PDP 11/750 to Alpha 4100 and VAX/VMS to OpenVMS.
o Automated all VMS operations using DCL (Digital Command Language) to achieve all
business requirements including tic data, batch processing, reporting and updates.
o Migrated all applications from legacy (OpenVMS) to SunOS and Windows Server.
o All legacy backups migrated from OpenVMS to Enterprise Netbackup. Developed and
automated backup vault (before

and Data Controllers, responsible for OIB day to day IT operations, Start of Day and End of Day.
Key Achievements:
Defined operational processes and controls of IT Operations.Reviewed their SOD
(Start of Day) and EOD (End of Day) processing and migrated several process to
offline processing and achieved timely completion of EOD. Branches start getting
online 3 hours earlier than it used to be online.
Overcame an unsatisfactory audit rating (since 1981) into a successful, satisfactory
audit rating in 1986, and maintain this till 1988. In the last year achieving a risk
reduction for the entity, extending the period until the next audit.
Automate daily, weekly and monthly processing and achieved to generate reports
within record agreed time for Branches, Other Departments including Treasury and
Audit.
Introduced controls and authored/co-authored Process Control Manuals (
Established relationships with a number of key vendors to reduce product and
maintenance costs.
o Active member of different groups to provide solutions and guide to automate and
improve operations.
o Trained UAE nationals, discover and polish hidden talent. Regularly update
management regarding their achievements with facts and figures.
o Worked with software vendors to discuss implementing HW and SW controls to ensure
compliance with regulations controls with a number of financial organizations.

prepare all branch correspondents, LC (Letter of Create), Demand Drafts, Foreign Exchange and
Accounts Department reports.
