Description of Key Responsibilities
Management of Disaster Risk Management Programme with the following activities
•Selection of NGO partners with the help of district Administration for Community based Disaster Risk Management Programme at District, Block and Urban local bodies.
•Preparation of funds allotment for the Blocks and ULBs as per the programme activities .
•Facilitate and coordinate for preparation of multi-hazard Disaster Management Plans of the District, Blocks, GPs, Urban Local Bodies and Villages along with government functionaries.
•Helping in development of awareness campaign strategy and awareness generation activities like street plays, rallies, painting and drawing competitions among school children on disaster preparedness.
•Monitoring of Disaster Risk Management activities like preparation of Multi-hazars Plans, DMT training, awareness programme at Block, Urban local bodies, Grampanchayat and Community level.
•Supporting in the training and capacity building programme of government officials/PRIs/NGOs/CBOs/Youth Clubs/ SHGs Teachers and others concerned on various aspects of disaster management.
•Facilitate the process Community based Disaster Preparedness exercises at blocks, GP, ULB and village levels through active involvement of government officials, PRIs, NGOs/CBOs, Youth Clubs.
•Coordinating and facilitating training programme for disaster management task forces formed at various levels on Health and First Aid, Search and Rescue Operation, Sanitation, Shelter Management, Carcasses & Garbage disposal, use of early warning equipments/HAM radio operation and etc.

•Regular reporting (Financial and Physical) to the Collector /State Nodal Agency and State Project Officer/UNDP on the programme activities.

•Facilitating establishment of control rooms at District and block levels for Disaster Management Information Dissemination.
•Attending State level monthly review meeting at Orissa State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA)/United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Bhubaneswar chaired by Managing Director, OSDMA, Team leader UNDP Bhubaneswar and State Project Officer OSDMA/UNDP.
•Managing District Control room with Additional district Magistrate and Deputy Collector (Emergency) at the time of natural calamity like Flood, Cyclone, tsunami and etc.
• Awareness to the DMT, Govt. Officials, PRIs and Anganwadi Workers, WSHGs on HIV AIDS in Ganjam and it preventive measure and facilities available by Govt. and other non- Govt. agencies within the district
