Driving and staffing ambulances and other emergency vehicles
responding to emergency calls
* Assessing patients, providing emergency treatment and making
diagnoses
* Monitoring and administering medication, pain relief and intravenous
infusions
* Dressing wounds/injuries
* Using specialist equipment including ventilators and defibrillators
* reading ECG
* Transporting patients to hospital and continuing to provide treatment
while in transit
* Providing hospital staff with patient information including condition and
treatment
* Helping provide patient care in hospitals and other medical facilities
* Communicating effectively with patients and their relatives/friends
* Teaching and training staff to use first aid techniques correctly
* Twenty-four-hour shift work (including weekends).
Clinical Practice
* Diligently completion of assigned responsibilities, while functioning within
established hospital, division and EMS guidelines, standards and
directives, under the immediate supervision of the Charge Paramedic.
* Accountable for providing high quality patient care, both pre-hospital and
in-hospital, based on a competent understanding of the patient /
customer needs, within established policies, procedures and protocols.
* Provide attentive patient care in a thorough and efficient manner.
* Maintain an awareness of the patient's physical, medical and cultural
needs at all times.
* Maintain a working knowledge of current trends in EMS and new
developments in the healthcare field.
* Anticipates potential problems and responds to them appropriately.
* Accountable for operating and maintaining EMS vehicles and equipment
properly, to avoid damage or breakage.
* Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
* Administration:
* Ensure EMS vehicles, equipment and supplies are in a constant state of
readiness.
* Consistently adhere to and implements EMS administrative and Medical
Control directives.
* Actively participation in EMS staff meetings.
* Education & Research
* Maintain professional licensure and required certifications.
* Participation in the development and presentation of educational
awareness programs.
Transport sick and/or injured patients to or between appropriate medical
facilities and/or residence.
* Active participation in the safe delivery of patient care and maintains a
safe environment for all patients.
* Respond professionally and promptly to instructions from a variety of
sources, such as, dispatchers and supervisors.
* Maintain confidentiality of all patients, employees and patient records.
* Safely operates and assists in the maintenance of company owned
vehicles as required.
* Performs daily vehicle maintenance check and cleans both the inside and
outside of assigned unit on a daily basis.
* Replenish medical equipment and supplies as needed.
* Monitor and properly operate all communications equipment to ensure
efficient, constant, and appropriate contact with the communications
department.
* Responds to all requests for service in an optimal manner and the priority
of response when directed by the dispatcher.
* Demonstrate flexibility, as patient needs change and the ability to
communicate the need for additional assistance when necessary.
Assesses the nature and extent of patients’ injuries or illness and
establish treatment consistent with Kingdom licensure and protocols.
* Produce accurate, legible, and complete documentation on all runs.
* Administer medical treatment in a caring and compassionate manner
thus promoting positive public relations for our company and the EMS
profession.
Determine the right course of action after evaluating the patient’s
condition.
* Provide medical aid such as AED, CPR, prevent spinal damage,
ventilation, control severe bleeding, prevent shock, bandaging wounds,
etc., to stabilize their condition.
* Clean the equipment. Check and replace the used and damaged supplies.
* Transfer patients to the emergency units of the hospital.
* Administration of activated charcoal, oral glucose and oxygen.
* Prepare a patient care report and take notes of the medical treatment
given to them.
* Sterilize the ambulance’s interior, if it is used to carry a patient suffering
from infectious disease.
* Restock all supplies in the ambulance and replace used blankets, linens
and other supplies.
* Calm down the victims’ family members.
* Attend refresher training programs and continuing education as required
by medical control, employers, certifying or licensing agencies.

Administration (Support Activities):
Manage medical Supply Chain clinic activities including clinic staff, emergency
vehicles management etc.
Handling inter-departmental issues like HR, Admin, Project management etc.
Timely feedback to concern departments.
