Tissue culture (micropropagation) of various varieties of plants such as Banana, Orchids, Anthurium, African Violet, etc.
•Media preparation for plant tissue culture.
•Supervise the various stages of micropropagation namely multiplication, rooting, hardening, potting and maturing.
•Initiate growth of explants from Mother plants.
•Monitoring of environmental temperatures and relative humidity, including freezers and refrigerators.
•Monitoring of balance as well as pH & EC of Ultrapure water.
•Maintain & Record appropriate ledger books for all procedures concerned.
•Send plants to sales section.
•Labour distribution of laboratory auxiliaries, general workers and nursery assistants.
Chemistry Section)
•Assist in analysis of vegetables, fruits, fish, fishery products, animal feed, honey, nuts and water amongst others using LCMSMS, GCMSMS, HPLC, AAS & KJELTEC equipment.
•Assist in analytical tests including pesticide residues, ethephon, aflatoxin, heavy metal, histamine, TVB-N (total volatile basic nitrogen), pH, ash content and moisture content.
•Also involved in the smooth implementation of ISO 17025.
•Furthermore assists in the preparation of the laboratory for the yearly assessments by International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).
•Monitoring of environmental temperatures and relative humidity, including freezers and refrigerators.
•Monitoring of balance as well as pH & EC of Ultrapure water.
•Maintain & Record appropriate ledger books for all procedures concerned.
•Issues and dispatches test reports as well.
•Writes Operating Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and devises quality forms.
•Performs internal audits.

•Incubation of seasonal fruit samples from different parts of island (Treated Regions - regions treated with Bait Mixtures & Killer blocks/ Untreated Regions - Regions Not Treated with Bait Mixtures & Killer Blocks)
•Identification and record of flies obtained. Results entered in database and analysed.
