Job Description:
Responsible for the implementation of Approved Procedures in accordance with project requirements, ensuring adequate conformance of project in terms of quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspection of coating materials, ensure that Painting/Coating and Abrasive blasting materials are stored in dry and well-ventilated rooms as per the manufacturer’s instruction.
Verify that all applicable equipment is calibrated and has valid certification.
Before blasting, clean weld joint with fresh water and check the salt level. If it is ok, proceed with abrasive blasting.
Continue monitoring the weather condition every 2 hours.
After completing the abrasive blasting, check the surface profile, salt test, dust test, check the surface temperature, Relative humidity, ambient temperature and dew point temperature.
Check Painting/Coating Application processes are carried out in accordance with approved procedures and specification. Inspection of Painting/Coating such as visual inspections, adhesion testing and holiday testing.
All activities should be witness as per I.T.P and client standard.
And make final report for Painting/Coating and submit it to Third party consultant for signature.
Performs related work as required.
Check Painting/Coating Application processes are carried out in accordance with approved procedures and specification. Inspection and confirmation of Painting/Coating, Blasting Materials as per the specifications.
Set up and maintain and trouble shoot blasting and coating/painting equipment.
Demonstrate his capability to properly establish compressor capacities and establish air and blast hose sizes that will achieve satisfactory nozzle pressures.
Inspect moisture and oil separators and how to check that the delivered air quality is free of oil, moisture, or other contamination.
Monitoring the site painting activities such as surface profile and application of coating on pipe spools, pipe coating, holiday testing.
Demonstrate spray pattern control for different painting applications.
Ensure that Painting/Coating materials are stored in dry and well-ventilated rooms as per the manufacturer’s instruction.
Use wet and dry film thickness gauges; conduct relative humidity tests; make adhesion checks; perform holiday testing; detect coating defects and make effective corrections.
Ensure all documentation to execute the work such as approved Coating procedures; Quality Control Codes and standard are available at work site.
Verify that all applicable equipment is calibrated and has valid certification.
Check Coating Application processes are carried out in accordance with approved procedures and specification. Inspection and confirmation of Coating, Blasting Materials as per the specifications.
Check and Witness of Profile, Salt test, Wet Film Thickness, Dry Film Thickness, Adhesive test, Peel test, Holiday test and determination of climatic conditions (relative humidity, dew point substrate temp.)
Witness and inspection of all Coating activities, Review of Inspection Document and has the authority to reject defective work.
Monitoring the site coating activities such as surface profile and application of coating on pipe spools, pipe coating, holiday testing, and heat shrink sleeves.
Ensure that the surface to be coated shall be free from contamination like welding spatter, dust, oil, grease, salt, rust and old coatings.
Ensure that the surface to be coated shall be clean, dry and free from coarse rust and scale, monitoring the coating works and ensures that coating materials are protected against moisture and rain.
Ensure that Coating materials are stored in dry and well-ventilated rooms as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
