Successfully partook in the tutoring of first-year engineering students and marking examination scripts.

My role, as the Student Site Engineer for the construction of a double story shopping center at Elizenheim Lifestyle Complex, 15 km outside Windhoek, Namibia, entailed site supervision and managing quality assurance.

My duties comprised of:

- Setting out site, land surveying, calculating levels, and supervising excavations, backfill, and compactions.

- Planning, supervising and inspecting the construction of strip footings, beams, column bases, columns, retaining walls, non-load-bearing, and load-bearing walls, and floor slabs.

- Supervising and inspecting the placement of steel reinforcement for beams, column bases, and columns, lift shaft bases, retaining walls and floor slabs.

- Calculating the quantity of concrete required for casting and the number of steel rebars required on-site on a daily basis.

- Placing in daily concrete mix and steel rebar orders for the construction site.

- Liaising with the site foreman and site agent to ensure maximum safety measures are put in place and adhered to during construction and that a high level of quality is delivered during the project.

Achievement: Successfully consulted on various civil engineering construction works.
