RESPONSIBILITIES
FOR NEW SHIPBUILDING
•Preparing of master schedule accordance with project
•Ensuring all works carried out meet company's quality standards and requirements
•Responsible for overall project planning.
•Ensure excellent customer relation& achieve customer satisfaction throughout the project
•Manage & implement projects through the different phases of feasibility studies, budgeting, scheduling and coordinating detailed engineering, procurement, construction & commission.
•Responsible for site co-ordination works between (owner/class), contractors and internal depts, managing all deliverable, including resources and schedules.
•Act as the central point of contract to disseminate latest update on progress and issues related to the project for effective resolution in a timely manner
•Responsible for the overall management of the contracts and ensure that all the agreed and / or contracted scope of works are executed in a safe manner meeting both cost and schedule requirements.
•Provide timely project progress reporting to management.
•To ensure compliance of quality, budgets, man hrs, material costs
•Implement and maintain the quality management system
•work closely with Owners to ensure fulfillment of requirements and conduct quality audits
•Conducting safety meeting on board vessel daily(VSCC)
•Actively participating in the implementation and administrative management of the Health, Safety, and Environments (HSE) program on site.
•Plan, manage and oversee new ship construction
•Approving hot work permits to sub-contractor
•Arrange surveyor for system checking and final inspection
•Carry out commissioning of Electrical equipment’s installation
•Follow sea trail for final testing at sea
•Ability to work independently
•Good judgment, organizational and communication skills
•Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
•Plan and manage site operations
•Prepare equipment/materials delivery schedule include liaising with supplier &confirm equipment/materials ordering& delivery date at site
•Recommending design modifications to eliminate equipment or system malfunctions during commissioning
•Ensure projects are accomplished in timely fashion and within budgeted cost
•Hand over all inspection reports, equipment manuals, and test certificates to owner
FOR REPAIR SHIPS
•Conducting Meeting up with Owners & Surveyors to finalize the scope of work as per specification
•Preparing of master schedule,
•Planning and coordinating the work between various departments and conducting meeting & monitoring day- to- day progress of work.
•Carrying inspections with owners superintends and surveyors
•Maintaining Resource for various repair works as per specification including steel work, electrical work, piping work, mechanical work, docking repairs, blasting and painting works etc.
•Organizing man power
•Conducting safety meeting on board vessel daily
•Managing engineers, foreman, workers &sub-contractors,
•Maintaining of service & inspection reports
•To maintain the quality of product
Have fairly sound knowledge of different types of marine ship & repair works and new building construction
RESPONSIBILITIES
FOR NEW SHIPBUILDING

Planning of work
•Upon receiving of work order, study the project work scope and plan the ground work.
•Plan materials take off and subsequently order the materials for the projects.
•Invite quotation for various works & get approval from commercial officer before awarding them.
Assignment of resources
•Assign officer-in-charge to various projects.
•Allocate yard workers for various projects.
•Appoint contractors to various projects / jobs with consent of Commercial officers.
Organize department functions
•Ensure that 5 week plan is updated daily in Marina system.
•Approve gate pass for material leaving the yard
•Approve daily overtime deployment
•Ensure that OR is replied with required details and subsequently communicated to all employees.
•Ensure that man hours, 5 week planning and other preparation are done before vessel arrived.
•No work shall be subcontracted out without prior consent of commercial officer.
•Ensure that the Lump Sum Subcontract (LSS) order is raised on the same day of start work or latest by next working day.
•Ensure that man hour allotted by commercial officer is not exceeded and planned and actual man-hour is recorded for all tasks in 5 week plan.
•Ensure that production targets are met within given man hours.
•Ensure that work done reports are submitted on time
•If required, arrange contractor for the project.
•Ensure that each and every workers are allowed to rest at least two days in a month
•Ensure that soon after the job is completed, work done reports are signed by the owner’s representative before the vessel sails & eventually distributed to PJM and commercial officer.
