I am an art historian whose interests revolve around the significance of image-making and visual communication in the global context. Over the last decade, I have been working primarily in the field of contemporary visual arts and education as a curator, conference & event manager, critic, writer, and lecturer focused on the intersection of visual thinking with transcultural social phenomena and intercultural practices. I hold a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Ghent in Belgium (2014). I carried out my doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tom Claes at the Department of Philosophy and Moral Sciences after joining its Center for Ethics & Value Inquiry (CEVI) in 2011 as the recipient of BASILEUS - Erasmus Mundus Partnerships Scholarship for academic exchange between EU and Western Balkans, funded by the European Commission. My PhD work consisted of: Academic Research (data gathering, data processing, data analysis), Reading, Content Writing (formulating hypotheses, concepts, theories), Activity Reports, Working Papers, Conference Presentations, Publishing; Practical Training: Specialist Courses (Experience of Violence), Transferable Skills (Effective Science Communication, Conference Skills, Academic Writing Skills, Personal Effectiveness Training, Creative Thinking, Politics of Representation), Experiments in Transnational Education, Guest Lectures, Thesis Defense. Prior to my doctoral project, I graduated in History of Art from the University of Belgrade (2003) and earned my M.A. degree in Cultural Management (UNESCO Chair) from the University of Arts in Belgrade (2005).
Following my early internship positions in New York (Artists Space Gallery, 2001) and Venice (Peggy Guggenheim Collection, 2004), I have been collaborating worldwide with artists from various fields and contributed to numerous publications, including theoretical readers, cultural journals, artist books and exhibitions catalogues. I am also regularly invited to give individual public talks at universities, art academies and cultural venues, I am also a member of IKT - International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art. Since early 2000s, I have been curating projects and exhibitions in Serbia and abroad. I have participated in numerous international conferences. I speak English fluenty (I hold a C1 - Cambridge Advanced English Certificate), French and Italian (conversational level), Spanish & Portuguese (basic), and all South-Slavic languages, including Serbian (mother-tongue), Bulgarian, Croatian, Bosnian, Montenegrin, Macedonian, and Slovenian. My Computer / IT Skills include: Microsoft Office, Excell, Social Media & Blogging, Basic Graphic Design & Word Processing (creating content for Presentations - documents, posters, slide; editing, formating, and finalizing text, images, video or audio), Spreadsheet and Databases.
