• Taking household goods into or out of storage.
• Safely packaging items before removal or storage.
• Office removals or relocations.
• Large specialist projects such as moving hospital, library or school equipment.
• Moving furniture and equipment for film and television companies.
• Moving specialist fine art and furniture.
• Job involves the completion of all tasks set by management, but their main tasks involve liaising with clients and updating and maintaining any paperwork regarding the removals job.
• We must calmly and efficiently communicate with current and prospective clients, providing any required information and maintaining correspondence throughout the removal process.
• We handle a lot of documentation, and must process quotations, accurately entering any new data into the company’s IT system, obtaining and completing any Insurance proposal forms and assisting the client with the successful completion and handing over of any claims documents.
• Planning delivery timetables
• Ensuring stores have enough stock
• Making sure suppliers have enough stock to meet demand
• Overseeing the ordering and packaging process
• Monitoring stock levels
• Tracking products through depots to make sure they arrive at their destination
• Overseeing arrival of shipments
• Monitor and motivate staff
• Ensure targets are met
• Recruit and train staff
Overseeing the distribution process every step of the way, monitoring staff to make sure the products are not only stored correctly but dispatched on time too.
• Acts on behalf of importers, exporters or other companies or persons.
• Organizing the safe, efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods.
• Researching and planning the most appropriate route for a shipment (taking account of the perishable or hazardous nature of the goods, cost, transit time and security).
• Arranging appropriate packing (taking account of climate, terrain, weight, nature of goods and cost), delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination.
• Negotiating contracts, transportation and handling costs.
• Offering consolidation services by air - ensuring cost-effective and secure solutions to small shippers with insufficient cargo to utilize their own dedicated units.
• Liaising with third parties to move goods by air in accordance with customer requirement
• Checks cargo documents utilizing, both manual and automated data processing systems.
