Analysed preparation-dependent property variations in nanocomposites of agarose-gold nanoparticles-thiol and
chitosan-silver nanoparticles leading to their successful application in the reduction reaction of p-nitrophenol to p-
aminophenol.
* To broaden the horizon, introduced carbon dots in organic medium (CDorg) using a novel organogel as the potential
precursor. These CDorg possesses amazing aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) property which
works for the “enzyme-free” detection of cholesterol in human blood serum through the fluorescence turn-on
mechanism.
SCIENTIFIC SKILLS
* Operating knowledge of scanning electron microscope (SEM), confocal microscope, optical microscope,
fluorescence spectrometer, UV-visible spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infra-red spectrometer (FTIR),
thermogravimetric analyser (TGA), contact-angle analyser, particle size and zeta potential analyser, fluorescence
microscope.
* Synthesis of nanoparticles and hybrid nanostructures with detailed characterisation for application based studies.
* Expertise in the wet-chemistry based nanoparticle synthesis.
