GAC Marine has been active in the
Arabian Gulf, home to some of the
world’s most important reserves of oil
and gas, for more than four decades.
Back in the 1970s, lightering of barges
from the anchorage into what is now
Mina Zayed Port was an important
part of GAC Marine’s business. Today,
our tug and barge operations are
a core element of our portfolio of
integrated marine services.
The GAC Marine fleet
Our fleet includes modern tugs with
up to 8, 000 BHP and barges of up to
8, 000 DWT. Tugs are well suited for a
variety of tasks ranging from general
towage and barge handling in support
of dredging operations, to serving as
monitoring or guard vessels.
Our barges that range in size from
150 to 280 feet are approved for
ballasting, and have the deck
strength required for heavy lift Ro-Ro
operations. They may also be used to
carry coated pipes, jackets, topsides
and other materials for offshore
construction.

Our fleet has grown bigger and
more sophisticated to serve the oil
& gas sector, and we put our know-
how at your disposal to ensure that
every project - large or small - goes
smoothly.
Our in-house capacity and fully
equipped marine base gives us the
flexibility to respond to customer
demands for equipment modification
to meet special requirements
efficiently and cost-effectively
way. This allows us to deliver short
turn-around times for class surveys,
modifications or repair / maintenance.
Our three in-house built Anchor
Handling Tugs are used to support
crane and pipe laying barges and for
rig moves and Floating, Storage &
Offloading (FSO) vessel support in the
region. GAC Marine continues to play
a vital role supporting the region’s
civil construction industry. We serve
industries where the projects are
rarely small-scale or short-term. And
