• Participate in all network operation (IP network, wireless/wired/optical last mile), infrastructure connectivity and security planning as well as development.
• Support network design and implementation for core and client networks.
• Ensure all IP devices are secured and within operational limits.
• A support daily IP network operation, project management and services monitoring
• Conduct network analyzing and troubleshooting.
• Document all network changes.
• Take active part in business process flow within department and whole company
• Technical design of new projects including standard and non-standard solutions according to client needs.
• Planning, design and rollout core network.
• Design of a highly redundant WLAN core network. Recommendation on suitable products, configuration and maintenance.
• Create network design to accommodate client requirements.
• Search for new and better technologies to deliver services to clients.
• Generate technical diagram and costing for client and internal projects.
• Evaluate devices/technologies that can be used to deliver services.
• Work with vendor on issues on the devices/technologies deployed in Netcom.
• Configure devices required to deliver service signed-up by client.
• Update network documentations and other relevant databases.
• Perform other task assigned by line manager.
• Support network design and implementation for core and client networks.

• Conduct network analyzing and troubleshooting.
• Research with new equipment and technologies maintaining awareness of cost effectiveness with the aim of brining a new type of quality services to Netcom clients.
• Providing reports to the Head of Department on the status of ongoing projects.
• Developing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships with external contractors.
• Ensuring that all engineering work is carried out in accordance with specifications, statutory requirements, laws, rules, regulations and other contractual requirements. With due regards to safety, operability and maintainability.
• Managing projects from conception, pre-production through to completion.
• Responsible for overseeing the review, initiation and execution of contracts.
• Troubleshoot any faulty link and provide solution. Work with vendors to effect repairs on WAN link in case of link failure.
• Configuration of network equipment e.g. routers, switches, and radios before their deployment to branches.
• Designing of IP Address scheme and its allocation.
• Ensure periodic preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Integration of new Links and extranet partner services to networks.
• Working with vendors to ensure standard engineering practices is adhered to during implementation of new links for branches.
• Ensure that all Cisco router configurations are backed up monthly.
• Administrative and Management functions such as;
-Research on current industry network data
-Communication issues.
• Troubleshoot any faulty link and provide solution. Work with vendors to effect repairs on WAN link in case of link failure.
