Supervising multiple EPC contract packages engaged in the development of site temporary construction words, infrastructure and enabling works, topographical and bathymetric surveying, dredging and reclamation, ground improvement works, port and hard standing construction including revetment, breakwaters, secant pile and quay walls, landside facilities and utility development. The role entailed the development (in conjunction with EPC contractors), monitoring and reporting on project master schedule, review and approval of all EPC contractor monthly progress applications. Preparation of all project reporting requirements using Client specific reporting templates to support the client proprietary project management procedures. Monitoring and reporting for procurement services and the management/processing of all Vendor invoicing and payments. Coordination of all commercial invoicing to client and the preparation of all routine internal and external progress reports. Preparation of documentation to support Client Management of Change procedure requirements.

Initially located in the EPC contractors ofices in Seoul, Korea for the FEED verification and Detailed Design phase of the project and later transferring to site in Musandam Province, Northern Oman. Responsible for the implementation and administration of the main EPC contract, various owner procured equipment subcontracts, project cost control, schedule, progress measurement and reporting, equipment and material procurement, EPC subcontract management and administration, document control, communications, IT. Also serving as project engineer responsible for the design and regulatory approvals of the project Security (onshore and ofshore) and Fire detection/protection/prevention systems. Successfully coordinated the defense of approximately $800MM of EPC claims, predominantly EOT orientated and events-based claims. Only $2-3MM USD was finally realised. The role also entailed liaison the Client home ofice and remote PMT in EPC Contractors ofice in Seoul, ofshore pipelines design team and EPC contractor, individual material and equipment vendors and external technical support operations and consultants from various organisations worldwide and acting as project manager of the PMC team on behalf of WorleyParsons Oman. The facility comprised 2 No. 21km ofshore and onshore sour and sweet gas pipelines, twin sea water inlet and discharge pipelines for seawater cooling system and existing marine port redevelopment encompassing port dredging, costal reclamation and close coordinated costal protection revetment (to allow highway relocation and plot expansion), 21MW captive power generation, jetty refurbishment and extension, navigation aids, 2km oil export pipeline, topside modifications and a Single Point Mooring installation and associated specialist marine security installations (including AIS, Radar, LOS ship to shore radio, long range spotlights and annunciation system) and the implementation of a coral relocation and marine habitat development program and environmental emissions (AAQMS) monitoring.

In addition to managing the construction the PMC team was responsible for complete master planning, conceptual design, preparation of all sub-contract bid packages and management award process and handover to construction, overall program master schedule development and maintenance and initial development and engineering for the Ras al Zawr port project. Specific job duties included coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the MICs engineering and construction activities and interface with Client Projects Director to ensure timely delivery of all projects at the Ras Al Zawr site. Development and implementation of mitigation plans for any issues arising with regards to achieving schedule, cost, quality and safety by pro-actively managing issues. Preparation, maintenance and publishing of all project specific monthly and weekly reports and presentations for use by the client board of directors at the Ministry of Mining.
