The job role is co-ordination and provision of all aspects of petrophysics within a multidisciplinary team environment with following responsibilities:
• Managing field-based logging operations, well cost analysis, contract management.
• Supervising petrophysical data handling and processing techniques, log data QC, driving accurate formation evaluation and reservoir characterization on single well and multi-wells
• Defining scope of work, procedures, parameters and timing to carry out petrophysical work to team members and performing timely reviews and quality checks
• Carry out and supervise saturation height modeling, Geomechanics, and rock typing, log predictions using different statistical techniques such as neural network, MRGC
• Advance log data QC, NMR, Sonic and resistivity image data processing and interpretation
• Mentor to new joiners and prepare them to take lead in fast-paced environment.
• Data presentation to project teams, peers and management and advise them on exploration risks and opportunities, development and completion programs
• Part of a 10-member Special task force constituted by director exploration with a responsibility to look after the petrophysical evaluation for all the GCM and rock physics modelling projects taken up by ONGC across all work centers in India.

During this period, contributed significantly by providing petrophysical inputs in various projects including GCM, Reservoir characterization, PSTM, Fracture and basement characterization, Facies Modelling, Geostatistical /Petro-elastic Inversion, Geo-mechanical modelling and other R&D projects taken up by the Institute. Major highlights were
• Gained expertise in formation evaluation of complex silici-clastics, carbonate and unconventional reservoirs belonging to various petroliferous basins of India through deterministic as well as probabilistic analysis. Data integration viz RCAL, SCAL, Hi-tech, Formation pressure and downhole fluid analysis for the estimation of fluid contacts.
• Project lead for standardization of multimineral petrophysical log processing model for various oil and gas fields.
• Identification and characterization of fractured zones through Image resistivity and Stoneley wave in the basement and tight carbonates.
• Evaluation of LRLC and thinly laminated reservoirs belonging to Western onshore basin, India through Saturation height modelling. Recommended recording of advance logs like FMI/NMR to management in some key wells having complex silty and thin bedded laminated reservoir in order to mitigate uncertainties
• Rock physics modelling of clastic and carbonate reservoirs belonging to different Indian basins which contributed significantly in reservoir fluid characterization and facies typing
• Advising petrophysical aspects for integrated reservoir characterization projects of Basin Research Groups.

Proved high level of competence while taking challenging tasks with following responsibilities

• Planning, Supervision and Execution of Open Hole, Cased Hole and Production Logging Jobs. Coordination and monitoring of wireline logging operations done by contractors and ensuring optimal safety practices on every job site

• Cased Hole and Production log analysis & Interpretation, recommendations for the revival of sick wells to enhance production

• Learned about the complete gamut of oil and industry from exploration to development of the field.
• Worked flexible hours across night, weekend and holiday shifts.
