Fire & Safety Qatar Electricity and Water Company is one of the largest companies in the field of power generation and water desalination in North Africa and the Middle East region. QEWC is the main supplier of electricity and desalinated water in Qatar. The company has witnessed remarkable growth during the last decade in line with the steady growth of the economy of Qatar and the increase in population and the corresponding increase in demand for electricity and water. •Monitor all the Job activity at the site to ensure safety compliance.
•Emergency Responds of Fire Alarm in Plant process area.
•Identify potential hazards report to concern department.
•Conduct tool box talk.
•Carried out inspection of hot work permit and confined space entry permit.
•Fire & safety Awareness training for plant employees and visitors, contractor stafs.
•Follow up with operation such as critical isolation of fire protection system.
•Conduct internal emergency evacuation procedure with operation and maintenance.
•Follow up shift daily assignment communicate and discuss with team.
•Promote and follow up FHSE awareness with all employees, contractors and follow -up company policy and procedures accordingly.
•Annalise daily permit to work, JSA, Risk Assessment, HAZOP, and HAZID
•Monthly Inspection program of Site equipment and Firefighting equipment to ensure safe operation.
•Installation of safety signs, trafic control signs and other safety promotion posters to remind workers to work safely and enhance safety awareness among them.
•Reviewing Lift Plan and Permit to work before any complex lift.
•Verifying to confirm that all lifting equipment operators are trained, competent and certified.
•Maintaining records of PTW's to be available for auditing as required by company standards.
•Assist to Fire & Safety Head for the Job Safety Environment Analysis and Risk assessment for all working & practices at site.
•Prepare & Submit daily safety reports / Inspection Reports.
•Increase and apply the awareness on health and safety levels within the organization and Conducting Toolbox Talk weekly & as per Task required. Key Achievements
•To record and maintain a database of all inspections conducted to follow up and identify corrective actions.
•Distributing Documents and ensuring Accuracy of all Documents.
•Operational readiness at all times of all personnel, vehicles and equipment.
•Direct and active participation and involvement of all personnel in the training program as allocated by the Fire Commander in his monthly training plan.
•The fulfillment and delivery of respective positions on Fire Appliances during response or in any activity in ensuring that efective Incident Command procedures are maximized in every operational incident.
•Coordination with Fire Commander and Maintenance on any defective equipment (correct reporting procedure applied)
•Fire and Gas release emergencies. Taking appropriate emergency response vehicle turnout and positioning. Assessing the nature /magnitude of emergency and calculating risk. Deciding the zones (Hot Zone, Intermediate Zone and Cold Zone) Coordinating with incident controller. Assessing the area and personals to be afected in the downwind direction, deciding firefighting strategy, formation of fire/search/rescue crew, application of extinguishing media, executing evacuation of the workers, Establishing onsite field command post and communication with Emergency control center, Fire fighters, plant control room, site main controller. Zone and Cold Zone) Coordinating with incident controller, assessing the area and personals to be afected in the downwind direction, deciding firefighting strategy, formation of fire/search/rescue crew, application of extinguishing media, executing evacuation of the workers, Establishing onsite field command post and communication with Emergency control center, Fire fighters, plant control room, site main controller.
•Knowledge and experience of fighting jet fires, pool fires, column fires, handling gas releases and vapor cloud and preventing ignition.
•To investigate, analyze and recommend suitable correctable measures for accident/incident, near misses and major incidents, preparing FIRs which forms the basis for future accident investigation
•Knowledge of HAZOP, Job safety analysis, FTA (fault tree analysis), Risk assessment. Aware of statutory safety requirements, NFPA.
•Commissioning team of fire protection systems in new plants of Qatar Electricity &Water Company RAF-A1 & RAF-A2 & RAF-A3 Project.
•Participate in Onsite and Ofsite Mock drills pertaining to particular incidence as per PRE FIRE PLAN. Which are based on Expertise in making emergency scenarios for mock drills and conducting table top exercise involving all the agencies within and outside complex, Evacuation drills, Review of firefighting strategies, emergency management plan, and regular upkeep of firefighting equipment. Fire protection systems and maintaining in excellent working conditions, review of pre fire plans. Expertise in making an emergency scenario for mock drill.
