Position: Senior Drilling Engineer and Drilling Cost Control Engineer for multi-billion dollar Artificial Islands Project.
Played a key role on drilling input to the project from project conception through FEED to ongoing execution spanning approximately 10 years to-date. Major contributions have included:
• The original well designs that provided proof of concept that a Super ERD project was not only both technically and economically feasible but also the most cost-effective solution. My work was thoroughly analysed and vetted prior to Exxon sanctioning the very significant capital spend.
• Custom building the cost control model that accurately designed current and future well expenditure for all 900 planned ERD wells. The current budget must be considered and will remain confidential but is in the order of $30 Billions.
• Acting as dual technical expert in both drilling engineering and budget planning to develop the current and future tendering strategy for all drilling related services.
• Designation of well slots on islands to optimize anti-collision, minimize well length and firm up locations of all wells in a complicated 3D model.
• As a side project designed, championed and ran the $100m initiative for the introduction of waste disposal wells on islands for drill cuttings and produced water reinjection into shallow horizons with respect to minimizing environmental impact of drilling and island operations. I’m particularly proud that this initiative has had a recognized positive environmental impact on the project.
• Participation in Quantified Risk Assessment (QRA) of extreme ERD wells in Upper Zakum including the potential world record attempt.
Been part of core team to optimize drilling operation to reduce time and cost. From start-up of the drilling campaign to date, drilling performance have increased with +100% and potential cost saving of $500m.
Mange field engineers formal and gas operation.
Develop HSE and operations manual for the company.
Develop an overview of equipment plan and maintenance procedure.
Part of exploration drilling team.main task perform pre estimation of pore pressure and frackers gradient calculation to find drilling window.
Managing all data acquisition for the exploration well.
Perform high level petrophysist evaluation of the real time logs.
