• Responsible for overseeing effective implementation of legal and regulatory policy framework that incorporates local and international law and best practices (as applicable) into business procedures and processes to support strategic and business objectives.
• Primary responsibility for preparing, amending and overseeing the implementation of internal regulations and providing opinions and advice on external regulations and how they impact the group.
• Development of effective regulatory programs and operational procedures covering companies' member in the group.
• Acting as trusted adviser within the Legal Department and directors and senior managers in group businesses by providing timely and accurate advice on commercial contracts, regulatory obligations or risk mitigation issues and employment law.
• Support corporate transactions.
• Supporting in reducing and mitigating litigation risk. Assistance with resolving contentious caseload including development of close-out strategy, litigation and arbitration proceedings.
• Managing litigation tracker and audit litigation confirmations, draft all memos of litigations prepare the documents relevant to the lawsuits.
• Support the implementation and updates of the group Legal Policies and Procedures. Support the development and updating of procedures, programs and systems to ensure implementation of approved Legal strategy.
• Ensure all strategic and operational legal matter tracking and reporting for the high management.
• Overseeing and managing risk allocation in contracts, primarily through development and management of contract templates and supporting primary custodianship of contract approval process.
• Support in identifying, managing and mitigating of legal risks for the group. Includes making recommendations and preparing legal opinions and formal legal responses to issues relating to strategic and reputational risk and assisting with Governance procedures.
• Drafting and negotiating hotel management agreements and the related documents.
• Following the development and contract life cycle from beginning to end, and ensuring the contracts are drafted, negotiated, executed and filed appropriately.
• The contracts and other legal documentation analyzing and reviewed and provided related advice.
• Represented clients at initial court hearings, instructing barristers in escalated cases.
