- Developing electric power system protection project deliverables within a project team
- Design and commissioning of Automation and control systems in IEC61850, DNP, and Modbus.
- Secondary design, protection and load flow studies using SKM and PSCAD.
- Leading in training and assisting customers with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of complex protection systems, both on-site and at remote locations
- Taking a lead role in the creation and final approval of functional design specifications for projects
- Assisting in the identification, preparation, and presentation of successful proposals for SEL equipment, services, and systems
- Following and improving SEL engineering processes
- Providing an advanced level of support for other SEL marketing, sales, application engineering, and development activities whilst working within strict SLAs, OLAs and contractual guidelines
- Leading in assigning, completing, and implementing work within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Providing application support to customers with IEC61850 implementation, primary and secondary injection testing
- Conducting OMICRON user workshops on new products and solutions to the problems faced by customers on site.
- Promoting OMICRON innovative solutions on digitalization of power grid and challenges faced by the industry due to the introduction of microgrids and Distributed Energy Resources (DER)
- Presenting OMICRON solutions in Engineering Conferences across Australia.
- Proactive participation in business development activities including but not limited to sales forecasting, market evaluation and strategy development.
- Prepare and present quarterly reports on industry trends, product applications, market activities and competitive products for the senior management
- Area sales management of OMICRON products and services in Western Australia, Tasmania, Northern Territory with a total revenue of around 5 million AUD.
- Look after technical queries of local and international customers on OMICRON products
- Help customers in analyzing their test results to reach a meaningful conclusion
- Work on primary and secondary application queries for OMICRON products
- Assist clients in the practical application and integration of OMICRON test equipment
- Lead trainings for internal and external customers
- Actively participate in trade fairs
- Support sales team on technical matters
- Document and observe customer and market requirements to further develop OMICRON products
- Lead a team of technicians with focus on customer relationships
- Manage project life cycle including submitting tenders, project planning, financial and manning scheduling, execution, invoicing, and project closure
- Review ITRs and preparing red line mark ups for design changes and issuing to client
- Provide technical support to HV technicians; and hands on testing & commissioning of HV/LV switchboards including secondary and primary injection testing of protection relays and transformers
- Prepare work and test packs for electrical installation and testing to ensure that all procedures liaise with client’s applicable standards
- Prepare ITPs to define client witness points
- Identify any mismatch between engineering design philosophy and drawings and present it to client engineering team
- Implement quality management plan and improve/ update it through continuous learning
- Develop ITPs and ITRs as per project specification and Australian Standards and define hold points
- Coordination with clients to conduct inspections as per hold points
- Quality audits within the company and of subcontractors
- Prepare work packs for technicians and ensure that all procedures liaise with client requirements
- Identify any design and engineering issues to client weekly meetings and work closely with field engineers to resolve discrepancies where possible or raise NCRs to escalate the issue to vendor
- Designing control system for up to 1.85 MVA generator and testing and commissioning the new control system including protection relays, primary and secondary injection of CT, VT, and power transformer.
- Testing of distance, differential, feeder, motor, and generator protection relays
- Commissioning of 25kV railway booster station and 33kV and 6.6kV switchboards.
- Partial Discharge (PD) & Tan Delta (TD) testing on power transformer, bushings, CT, VT, and Cables.
- Modification in protection system and installation of new relays in existing 33kV boards. Preparing as built drawings.
Coordination with the main contractor and customer for planning activities.
Preparation of three weeks’ activity schedule based on the overall schedule and as per site conditions.
Identify and manage project risks to minimize risks.
Review and provide corrective action for Non-Conformance Report.
Review electrical design of protection and control systems and modify these when necessary to meet contractual obligations
Secondary and primary injection testing on protection relays and primary equipment
Configure BCU and protection relays of ABB, Siemens, SEL, GE and AREVA to communicate to main servers via IEC 61850 protocols, and implement protection and control logics
Commissioning protection and control schemes of overhead lines, transformers, generators, low/ high impedance busbar protection schemes and 380kV and 115 kV GIS local control cubicles in double bus single CB and one and half CB schemes, 34.5 kV and 13.8 kV switchgears
Primary and secondary injection testing of protection and control relays. Including Line/ Transformer differential, Distance, CBF, AVR, Generator, motor, and feeder protection
