DCOM’s GIS section has started to develop its strategic roadmap and has been developing its infrastructure. It has acquired state of the art modern technologies to run its information infrastructure. The enterprise Geodatabase of DCOM runs on Oracle 10g, SDE 9.3.1 on SUN Solaris operating system
Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities include;
GIS database designing, and organization need assessment.
Manage and maintaining structures for GIS database storage.
Geodatabase management tasks such as creating user activities reports, user rights management, inclusion and deletion of GIS data to enterprise repository.
Customization of ArcSDE configuration.
Day to Day GIS analysis for other departments.
GIS Data update, including spatial data quality, topology and attributes.
Convert AutoCAD drawings to GIS format.

GIS database schema design and implementation.
Customization of SDE configuration.
Oracle Database Administration
In house GIS projects management.
Providing professional consultancy services for GIS based projects.
Technical inputs in design and implementation of spatial analyses for urban planning.
Consultancy for geospatial data quality evaluation (position accuracy, metadata) and documentation.
Design and Implementation of Web based GIS systems
Supervision of data building processes.
Technical services for Satellite image processing, such as ortho-rectification, mosaicing and image enhancements.
Land Use / Land Cover change detection using satellite data.
Creation of digital fly through.
VBA customization in existing ArcGIS.
Advices and troubleshooting to GIS staff.
Import Active Projects’ plans and as built drawing into the GIS system and build its associated attributes
Work with Property Management to implement GIS on operational assets.
Manage the GIS system within the Communities.
