General Surgery Specialist
Responsibilities
• Admit surgical patients under my care either from ER or from out patient clinic and do the required
surgical procedures
• Manage acute surgically ill patients either in the ER or ICU and performing all necessary
emergency surgical procedures, be aware with the basics of fluid therapy and blood
transfusion .
• Providing quality preoperative and postoperative care and assessment of the operative
risks especially for surgical patients with co morbid medical diseases.
• Conduct surgical procedures independently with understanding of the complete aseptic
techniques, gentle handling tissues, and secure hemostaisis .
• Provide wound management and understand the factors affecting wound healing and wound
management for long term care patients with different bed sores and ulcers.
• Identify and manage various causes of shock and principles of fluid therapy.
• Received surgical consultations from other specialties and delivery of the surgical care to
every patient as indicated .
• Supervised surgical residents and provide the advice and instructions for preoperative
and postoperative care.
• Peripheral i.v. access, maintain patent airway and provide advanced airways to trauma
patient such as oropharyngeal/nasopharyngeal and endotracheal airways.

Resident of General surgery January, 1993 to Marsh,1999 (core and advanced surgical training) - from Marsh, 1998 to Marsh, 1999 At the New vally (peripheral area) Governmental General hospital (qualified Resident of General surgery referred from assiut directorate of health affairs for peripheral area services) - from 2/1995 to 2 / 1998 in Assiut General hospital (Governmental) Assiut, EGYPT - from 1/1993 to 11 /1997 in Saint Maria private General Hospital –Assiut, Egypt with work period of overlap in both hospitals from 2/1995 to 11/1997. Training courses • Basic life support (BLS) training at Dammam central hospital on 26th, August 2009 in the group training center of ALmana General Hospital –khobar –SAUDI ARABIA. • Advanced trauma life support (ATLS) course attendance from 05 to 07th May 2009 • Advanced cardiac life support(ACLS) course in the group training Centre, Almana General Hospital, Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia- from 15 to 17th, August 2009 • Continued Medical Education conducted in our hospital at weekly basis English language : Fluent speaking, writing, reading and listening, IELTS score 5.5
