Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides leadership, direction, and general supervision to all
Clinical Engineering, and Facilities Engineering Management.
2. Provides Consultancy Services for the coordination & supervision of
installation of Medical Equipment, Electrical works, Mechanical works, Water
treatment system, HVAC equipment, Generators, and Low current equipment.
3. Manages and monitors all activities of the subcontracted Operations &
Maintenance (O&M) Company, and other service support contractors,
ensuring compliance with the hospital mission, values, and policies and
procedures, and in the most cost-effective manner.
4. Takes responsibility in the day-to-day operation of the departments ensuring
that all activities are conducted according to hospital and departments’
policies and procedures. Assigns jobs and delegates responsibilities to all staff.
5. Ensures that all equipment and systems (medical and non-medical) and
facilities structure are properly maintained and documented, ensuring their
safety and up-to-date compliance with JCI, MOH, IEC, AAMI, NFPA, ASHE
requirements, and other relevant international standards.
6. Provides engineering support and technical expertise on all matters related to
technology, especially in the process of planning, review, evaluation,
specifications, tendering, and selection for equipment procurement. Assists
with the preparation of tender and purchase documents addressing issues of
compliance with standards, warranty, training, parts, etc. Works closely with
end-users to ascertain appropriate equipment and technology needs and proper
selection of such equipment and technology.
7. Provides engineering and expertise on new facilities, in the areas of equipment
planning, installation requirements, specifications, and selection. Reviews
architectural plans and works closely with the architects and contractors to
ensure adequate and proper facilities design and construction to house
assigned medical, and non-medical.
8. Ensuring that all energy consumption is monitored and optimized for
hospital needs and effective utilization in a cost-effective manner.
9. Evaluates, negotiates, and manages service contracts, while continuously
assessing the feasibility of alternative more cost-effective service methods.
10. Takes appropriate action to continually improve staff education and know-
how to properly maintain existing and new technologies, and to reduce the
dependency on outside service.
11. Develops and provides a comprehensive in-service education program on the
safe and effective use of medical equipment both for all relevant Hospital
and department staff.
12. Takes action to minimize hazard risks associated with medical and non-
medical equipment use. Investigates incidents and equipment-related hazards
and recalls; takes appropriate action, and documents findings and actions.
13. Develops, updates, and implements policies and procedures for
the departments.
14. Chairs departmental meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Leadership, direction, and general supervision to all Biomedical
Engineering, and Facilities Engineering Management.
2. Complete supervision over all the medical and non-medical maintenance
affairs included in the maintenance applications.
3. Assure continuity of work, planning, preventive maintenance, corrective
maintenance, and training regarding medical equipment, and non-
medical equipment.
4. Studying the projects assigned and handling a detailed report to the
administration after each deliberation.
5. Complete supervision over the maintenance contracts.
6. Assure the continuous implementation of ISO, accreditation hospital
standards, and working on HMIS (private data base software) as well as
putting an annual training plan for all departments under my supervision.
7. Prepare the specifications and tenders requested for purchasing any
medical equipment.
8. Develops, updates, and implements policies and procedures for
the departments.
