I held full managerial responsibility for the planning and supervision of all activities pertaining to blasting in the mining operations. This encompassed the comprehensive management of the preparation process for blasting, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Additionally, I supervised the execution of extraction activities from the deposit, overseeing the implementation of effective and efficient extraction techniques to optimize the mining processes. This dual role involved strategic planning, coordination, and meticulous oversight to guarantee the safe and productive execution of blasting and extraction activities within the mining operation.
In the capacity of Head of Aggregate Quarry Operations in Algeria, I assumed responsibility for overseeing two quarries: the Koudiat Oudjaout Quarry situated in Hadjret Enous, Tipaza, Algeria, and the Tazrout Oudjelid Quarry located in Cherchel, Tipaza, Algeria. The operations conducted under my supervision primarily involved open-pit mining techniques, incorporating both mechanical extraction and explosive blasting processes. The quarries specialized in extracting micro granite and limestone, with the resultant products finding application as aggregates in various construction and infrastructure projects.
The focus of my research thesis and final project centered on the "Evaluation of the oil in place volume" within the Berkin Region in Hassi Messaoud, Algeria. Employing the method of 3D Geological Modeling, the study aimed to provide a comprehensive assessment of the potential oil reserves in the specified location. This involved utilizing advanced geological modeling techniques to analyze subsurface structures and reservoir characteristics in three dimensions. The Berkin Region was chosen as the study location due to its significance in the oil and gas industry in Hassi Messaoud, offering a valuable context for evaluating oil in place. The research endeavors sought to contribute valuable insights to the understanding and management of hydrocarbon resources in the region.
During my internship, my primary objectives were focused on the observation and analysis of mining operations, as well as gaining a comprehensive understanding of the associated processing procedures. This involved actively participating in on-site activities to observe the practical aspects of mining, including exploration, extraction, and other operational processes. Additionally, I aimed to analyze the various stages of mining operations, from initial exploration to the processing of extracted materials. Through this internship, I sought to acquire hands-on experience and insights into the mining industry, enhancing my knowledge of the intricate processes involved in resource extraction and processing.
