QA/Qc welding inspector . checking before during and after welding - preparing dossiers, checking fit up and making report satr 2006 saudi aramco project post weld inspection satr 2007 preparing nde request, monitoring welder performance, witness welder qualification test .
Job Responsibilities:
. Reviewing Welding Procedure Preparation according to ASME section IX.
. Welding and Visual inspection of the same at site.
. Responsible inspection and documentation of welding works, checking and identifying material classification.
. Inspection of welding.
. Maintain all QA/QC documents & prepare Final QA/QC dossier.
. Qualification of welders and operators.
. Checking of consumables used in welding to ensure compliance with specification.
. Checking of weld joint preparation before welding as per Clients specification.
. Monitor Welders performance and to ensure that they performed with the limits of their qualifications.
. Witnessing the PQRs and welder Qualification test.
. Visual Inspection of all joints before welding, during welding and after welding.
. Welder performance Qualifications (WPQ).
. Monitoring of project QA/QC activities & taking overall responsibilities.
. Checking dimensions of materials to ensure that they are in compliance with requirement on thickness of plate/pipes.
. Checking of weld joint preparation and peripheral edge of flat plate/pipe.
. Ensure safe and proper welding practices are employed at all times.
. Ensuring that dimensional requirement have been met including dimensional marking.
. Monitor Welders performance and to ensure that they performed with the limits of their qualifications. And essential variables are met in accordance to approved WPS.
. Ensure that heat treatment is performed under control and approved procedures.
. Ensure consumables used are in accordance to approved specifications.
. Checking of complete weldment against requirement of drawing and job
specification.
. Verification of repair work and repair weld test. Welding inspection of SMAW, GTAW processes.
. Interpreting the Radiographic Films as per relevant standards.
. Witnessing the inspection of Ultrasonic, Magnetic particle and Penetrant Testing methods according to different codes and standards.
. To measure planar discontinuities, lamination, crack incomplete fusion, inclusions & voids.
. Reviewing the documentation and guiding the contractor in maintaining the documents to get the clearance before hydro/pneumatic test
. Involved in project management, inspection activities and co-ordination with contractors. Controlling the project through relevant work permits and safety practices.
. Verification and Evaluation of contractor's bills.
. Inspection/acceptance of materials furnished by the manufacturer.
. Handling, storage of materials and specification design including grades, type and class.
. Checking of welded joint preparation before welding as per Clients specification.
. Ensure welding process, preheat and interpass temperature are in accordance to approved specification.
. Carried visual and dimensional inspections.
. Verification of PWHT (if required).
. Preparation of inspection report and documentation of all related fabrication inspection and tests report.
. Welding inspection of SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW processes.
. Dimensional measurement of metal thickness as corroded material for wall thickness.
. Interpretation of Radiographs.

Job Description:
1) Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting of products and structures, such as auto, aircraft, and ship components, pipes, boilers, and mobile homes, applying knowledge of welding and cutting techniques, materials, and equipment, and fabrication requirements: Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required.
2) Requisitions supplies, such as weld rods, gas, flux, and fixtures.
3) Inspects work or confers with WELD INSPECTOR I and WELD INSPECTOR II to maintain specified standards and quality.
4) Trains workers in operation of equipment.
5) May set up machines or make trial welds to make test runs and experimental products.
6) May supervise brazing and soldering operations.
7) May supervise fitting and assembly of structural frames.
8) May supervise workers engaged in making tubing from flat steel strips by electric-weld process and be designated Welding Supervisor, Electric-Weld Pipe Mill.
9) Important variations include location of workers supervised, such as in-plant, job-shop, construction site, or shipyard.
10) Performs other duties as described under SUPERVISOR Master Title
Supervises the installation, repair, and maintenance of the university steam distribution lines.
Lays out and supervises the cutting and fitting of material in preparation for welding.
Maintains and makes repairs to welding equipment.
Prepares cost estimates of labor and material; orders supplies, material, and equipment.
Prepares routine work and time reports and maintains standard records.
Recruits and trains subordinate personnel; establishes safety and work performance standards.
Performs related work as required.
