The project includes Infrastructure, streetscapes and villas (Phase 1, 2 and 3) along with 36 parks in Baniyas North Abudhabi. This is a housing project for the construction of 3, 453 villas with associated infrastructure, streetscapes and parks developed by Abudhabi Housing Authority (ADHA)/Aldar with a budget price of AED 8.7 billion. I am responsible for the post contract commercial and contracts deliverables (PMC role) by managing a 11 member Contracts/commercial staff.

From September 2017 to December 2020 : In charge of the Post Contract Commercial Management service of a prestigious 1.5 million square meter shopping mall in Dubai. Budget price was approximately AED 6 billion.

From December 2020 to March 2021 : Al Diriyah Arts Oasis project, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This project is an Arts Center developed by DGDA (Diriyah Gate Development Authority) with a budget price of 130 million Saudi Riyals. I worked remotely as Commercial Manager for the post contract stage.

The project is 75 storey ADNOC NEW CORPORATE HEAD QUARTERS BUILDING, ABU DHABI. My role was client representative responsible for post contract responsibilities at site directly reporting to ADNOC management. The Contract is lump sum type which was divided into different packages with estimated Contract sum @ AED 1.9 billion.

Worked as Senior Quantity Surveyor. As a client organization my role is to provide support to the Finance department which includes, Cash flows, monitoring progress of various project. An additional role of providing support to community service department is also carried out. My involvement is to provide commercial and contractual advice, business case commercial reports, cost control etc.

Worked as Commercial Manager/Senior Cost Consultant. The scope includes commercial management of Infrastructure and utilities works which includes 4no bridges, 4km of elevated roads, 5.5km of service roads, 1.2km of Quay wall and utilities like Power, Telecom, Potable water, Sewer, Storm, and Irrigation etc. The Original Contract value is AED 2.7 billion. Final Value is AED 3.2 billion.

This Contract is GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) type Design and Build Contract. Due to huge volume of work involved, the change management system adopted was most challenging one. In addition to certifying Contractor’s interim Payment, I involved in preparation of monthly commercial Reports, updating client about the financial status of the Contract, provide contractual advice etc

While working with Hyder Consulting I handled contractor’s claims, costing, contracts administration and assist the design team in pretender and post tender stages.i.e preparation of BOQ and contract documents, tender analysis report, fiancial impact report, selection of contractor, replying to their queries, conducting meetings etc .


Moreover I assist design team at head office in Quantity takeoff and preparation of BOQ as per CESSM3, principle of measurements and pricing for preparation of budget for tender works.Following are the summary of projects I have dealt with design team

• Utility services like, Irrigation, potable water, sewer, storm water, District cooling system, Telecom & Gas for Private developers like Reem, Sorouh, Najmath and Tamouh
• Al Ain Water transmission scheme, Package P1, P2 and P3 which consist of 180km of DN 1600 DI pipe with optional socket/spigot and welded Carbon steel pipe with branches, wadis, Pumping station, water storage tank etc

As a Quantity surveyor/Estimator with Contractor, following duties were assigned to me.

Preparation of monthly interim valuations, final account of completed contracts, preparation of variation order and star build up rate, preparation of measurements and agreement of the same with the consultant, weekly reviewal of progress of work in comparison with programmed progress and giving alarm to concerned person for any delays, giving financial awareness to site engineers/foreman about site activities, co-ordination with surveyors/foreman to get as-built measurements.preparation of sub-contract payment certificate, liasing with suppliers to fix prices of materials .
Notification and preparation of claims in accordance with the clauses of conditions of contract within specified time frame.Drafting correspondence by quoting relevant clauses of FIDIC & measurement rules mentioned in CESSEM3.Preparation of monthly costing for all running contracts.Monthly verification of all suppliers invoices.Preparation of BOQ’s for subcontract works and negotiation and finalisation of rates with them, co-ordination with estimation department for tendering works etc
