ENOC is a wholly owned government company based in Dubai operating 30 active subsidiaries engaged in upstream and down- stream oil and gas activities including Supply, Trading, Refining, Terminalling, LPG operations, and Fuel stations. Am currently positioned at the corporate level, reporting to the Manager-External Reporting, duties including:
>Professional tasks in respect of external & internal reporting, preparing Consolidated Group financial statements as per IFRS.
>Responsible for reporting and handling queries of the Parent company “Investment Corporation of Dubai” (“ICD”).
>Liaison with auditors to plan audits across the Group and subsidiaries with a view to ensure proper flow of information and maintain strict timelines.
>Performing analytical reviews of Group Financials for inclusion in Audit Committee Report.
>Performing business analysis for presentation of data for inclusion in the Group Annual Report.
>Responsible for submittals of financial and non-financial analytical information to regulatory authorities (e.g. surveys performed under Foreign Investment Survey, Internal Trade Survey etc).
>Develop and contribute in the implementation of new procedures, financial data models to enhance the work-flow of the finance function across the Group.
>Performing accounting due diligence & financial statement analysis of prospective acquisitions and merger targets, evaluate investment proposals received for new projects.
>In conjunction with the implementation team of COGNOS (i.e., Group consolidation software), administer the reporting modules to make improvements to the process and reports, knowledge transfer through responding to user queries across the subsidiaries.
>Oversee & supervise the daily operations of the corporate head office including monthly closing (FA/AP/AR/GL).
Directly reporting to the Controller- External Reporting, my responsibilities in this position included:
>Support the process of annual group consolidation (including preparation of Group consolidated financials, reviewing the group reporting forms, reviewing the financial statements of subsidiaries) and act as focal point for auditors.
>Responsible for corporate financial accounting (GL) and supervise the Receivable/ Payables functions.
>Responsible for submittal of monthly Management Reports.
>Reviewing monthly capital work-in-progress & project related expenses throughout the project life cycle from initiation till completion.
>Monitor completed capital projects and ensure they are capitalized in Oracle.
>Monitor adherence to Groups policies and procedures relating to capital expenditure from initiation to completion and monitor the justification for deviations.
The company is an advertisement agency and sister concern of NMC Group located in Dubai Media City dealing both with in-house advertisements within the group and outside clients. Main responsibilities included:
>Overall in-charge of General Ledger, Receivables and Payable Ledger and Periodic reports to management.
>Finalization of Annual Accounts, Liaison with Bank Authorities, Govt. Departments and Auditors.
>Annual Budgeting and periodical forecasting.
>Arrangement and optimum utilization of funds thereby reducing financial overheads.
>Periodical reporting to Head Office thereby independently dealing with queries.
Directly reporting to the Head of Audit, the designation demands overall responsibility viz.
>Periodical audit of NMC Trading Establishment, NMC Hospitals, (UAE Exchange-sister concern including compliance with Anti Money Laundering rules set by the UAE Central Bank).
>Monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of various units.
>Formulate and recommend new audit procedures in liaison with Chief auditor.
