• Responsible for reviewing site plans, working drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for
land development, showing ground contours, vegetation, locations of structure, and such facilities
as roads, walks, parking areas, fences, walls, and utilities, coordinating arrangement of existing
and proposed land features and structure. Inspect construction work in progress to ensure
compliance with landscape specifications, to approve quality of materials and work, and to advise
client and construction personnel on landscape features.
• Analyse the natural elements of the site, such as the climate, soil, slope of the land, drainage, and vegetation
• Prepare preliminary design after studying and analysing the site
• Prepare and present detailed plans and working drawings, including details and specifications for the project
• Take into account any local regulations, such as those protecting wetlands or historic resources
• Review the approved plans, working drawings and all existing and proposed features
• Review in detail the methods of construction and the list of necessary materials
• During the design and planning stage, visit and analyse the site to verify that the design can be incorporated into the landscape
• Working on the development of Lusail City, a brand new project to create a unique, state of the art city prominent in both the region and worldwide and ready to fulfil host duties during the 2022 FIFA World Cup
• Providing key assistance to and deputising for the Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the project’s day-to-day activities
• Working strictly in line with the contract documents and specifications, overseeing contractors works to ensure required construction, operation and maintenance is achieved
• Reviewing contractors’ submissions, shop drawings, methods statements, material submittals as well as supervising site inspection staff and surveyors, reviewing their daily reports
• Monitoring and overseeing the quality of materials and workmanship employed within the project, highlighting any areas of concern and escalating to relevant personnel
• Acting as a focal point on site to give direction, guidance and issue site instructions, maintain detailed records of inspections and works executed
• Ensuring as-built drawings are complete and correct, additionally recording and displaying progress vs program and preparing progress reports
• Supervising the design, build, supply, operation, maintenance and transfer of Lusail nursey, co-ordinating the import of exotic plants, and inspecting them at source as well as at delivery.
• Advising Lusail nursery on the production and maintenance of shrubs, ground covers, cacti, and succulents regarding fertiliser, irrigation and sunlight requirements
• Inspecting all species of palms and trees for any pests and diseases, and recommending integrated plant protection measures
• Undertook a significant role as part of Saudi Arabia’s first LEED certified project and the world’s largest LEED Platinum campus that was also named by the American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment as one of the top ten Green Projects in 2010
• Provided expert recommendation and suggestions for improvement upon review of the landscape design for the campus area
• Reviewed the technical proposal submitted by the service provider for maintaining the landscape area, nursery and irrigation system of the campus
• Executed commissioning activities of irrigation system, plant nursery, green houses, and shade houses
• Utilised expert knowledge of engineering technology and biological sciences and applied its relevant aspects within the horticulture and landscaping projects
• Coordinated and monitored the construction of campus landscape and grounds, application of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, mulch and fertilizers as directed; managed the operations of, power mowers, backpack sprayers, hoes, shovels, hand tools and related landscape equipment as required
• Identified root causes of landscaping issues and devised methods for improvement based on analysis of statistical data and reports
• Fully accountable for the maintenance of 500, 000 square metres of grounds focussing on turf and tree care, pest control, waste management & irrigation efficiency optimisation
• Undertook an integral role in the procurement and maintenance of outdoor and indoor plants in the academic & administration buildings as well as the Research Park and Innovation Cluster
• Defined and formulated KPI’s, SOP’s and green asset management register in co-ordination with Facility Management Company and service providers
