  • Inde - Kochi
  • Je travaille ici depuis juillet 2017

• Key Responsibilities
• Headed the operation and maintenance of all the critical electrical equipment (viz. 110 kV substation and its downstream distribution system with all critical electrical equipments like induction motors, PMCCs, HV and LV switchgears, High current rectifier banks up to 61 kA, DG sets up to 1.5 MW, UPS, VFDs, Soft starters and all other utility system etc.) efectively and minimized the down time to 12 Hrs /Annum.
• Achieved a reduction of 8% in the auxiliary energy consumption by implementing SCADA based energy monitoring system and conducting energy audits. With this, the present auxiliary energy consumption has come down to 38000 Units from 41500 Units per day.
• Implemented state-of-the-art condition monitoring system for critical equipment viz. rectifier and power transformers, which prevented the major failure of one of the rectifier transformers during 2012 and thereby saved 8 crore of INR (1 Million $). The frequency of condition monitoring of critical transformers has been rescheduled to once in three months, with this efort the development of serious faults are identified well in advance and there by saved the equipment from complete failure.
• Undertaken and completed the design, installation, testing and commissioning of diferent renovation projects in time. Installation of 5 No.s 350 kVAr APFC panels, ATS panel, 8 No.s of 415 Volts PMCC panels, EOT Crane Control Panels, 1000 kVA transformer, VFDs (of diferent
capacities), HV CTs, PTs, ABT meter, 39 MVA power transformer with NIFPS, ABT metering system with remote monitoring through GPS etc are some of the renovation projects executed
during this period. (Total cost for all the above said projects 190 million INR) (2.1 Million $). This has improved the reliability and reduced the down time due to break down.
• Controlled the inventory of materials and spares by efective material planning and standardization. This has reduced the procurement of spare parts and there by achieved substantial saving.
• Executed the erection, testing and commissioning of 300 TPD Horizontal saturator in 2010
(Total project cost 18 million INR)(.25 Million $) and 5TPD sodium Chlorate Plant in
2013(Total project cost 290 million INR)(4.2 Million $).
• Undertaken and Completed the installation, Testing and commissioning of Schneider Vigeo Citect SCADA System with 5000 Points.
• Undertaken and completed the erection, testing and commissioning of Surveillance system for fence and plant monitoring.
• Worked as nodal oficer for Open access energy procurement system and there by achieved INR 100 Million INR saving in energy bill.
• Mediated and resolved many HR related issues and cultivated service centered attitude to the
employees.
• Managed a team of 45+ members for eficient execution of operation and maintenance and
projects.
• Developed a load Vs Energy consumption algorithm for the most economical operation of the
plant. With the zone based billing pattern of the state electricity company, the energy consumption during peak hours will be charged 140% more than normal hours. To overcome this, a load Vs consumption algorithm has been formulated, with which, the plant load condition shall be controlled, for most economical operation. This efort has reflected as 150K INR saving in each month energy bill.
• Addressed the regulatory issues regarding power purchase, bill, tarif etc with state utility company and regulatory commission and resolved amicably.
• Hands on experience in Design, Installation, testing and commissioning of grid connected solar power stations.
• Authored the operation manual for rectifier operation.
• Conducted training on efective operational and maintenance practices for employees. With this, the operators could do their work with much more confidence and this has reduced the
plant interruptions to 0%, due to mal operations.
