I am working with IMDAD Total Site Services as Water and Sanitation Department Pillar in one of the UN missions (UNISFA). IMDAD is responsible of ground Maintenance and Camp Services at UNISFA Camps located within “ABYEI Administrative Area”, Sudan and South Sudan. The major roles and responsibilities is managing and monitoring the whole WATSAN department within UNISFA mission. WATSAN department is responsible of managing and controlling of water supply demand, wastewater management and pluming activities that includes the following: 1- Water Purification Units installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance. 2- Wastewater Treatment Plants installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance. 3- Plumbing activities for maintenance and new installation projects. 4- In addition, closely coordinate with UNISFA Engineering Section for the schedule and maintain a maintenance logbook recording all activities, materials, tools, equipment, manpower including any on-site problems and corrective measures that are undertaken. Regular update of the logbook presents to UNISFA Engineering Section through “Monthly Report”.

Preparing proposal documentation including environmental scope summaries, budget and staffing estimates. Frame Goals & Objectives
in a project proposal and prepare a well-written proposal by defining goal & SMART objectives to attain the desired goal.
Help determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. Forecasting the resources and associated costs needed to execute a project proposal, which helps ensure
achieve project objectives within the approved timeline and budget.
Reviewing technical submittals and studies prepared by sub consultants or subcontractors to assure quality and content, liaising with environmental authorities to facilitate environmental permits and managing the performance of subs. Making sure that technical
submittals comply with client and authorities requirements.
Charge in handling all environmental projects related to the company business line. Working with the team to accomplish and achieve all deliverables for the projects.

Detailed description of tasks and standards for the development of Environmental and Social Impact Studies to be prepared for the project in order to:
1) Consider in an integrated manner the potential Environmental Social risks, benefits and impacts of the project.
2) Identify specific mitigation measures and actions necessary for the project to comply with National Applicable Law (NAL) and International Environmental and Social Standards (IESS) and other applicable requirements, to reduce risks and enhance
benefits and;
3) Flag the need for any further studies, plans and/or programs that will support positive Environmental & Social development outcomes of the project.
Managing and monitoring the whole department and ensure effectiveness of my subordinates to meet deadlines of tender proposal submittals.
Review and study technical and commercial proposal in accordance with the tender requirements and maintain compliance and competitiveness of the proposals. Ensure proper coordination and cooperation within the department, other departments, management, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and etc. to maintain smooth work flow.
Obtaining the project vide successful Technical and Commercial Bid Proposal preparation and submission and ensure completeness and compliant of comprehensive techno-commercial proposal.
Gathering of price quotations and generate the unit price analysis for the development of the detailed cost estimate for the evaluation and review of the top management.
Manages all costs relating to Automated Waste Collection System Project, from the initial calculations to the final figures. Seek to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies; performing risk and value management and cost control; advising on procurement strategy; identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks; providing advice on contractual claims; analyzing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports; valuing completed work and arranging payments.

For wastewater treatment plants (Gray and Sewage (MBR technology)) the responsibility is the purification of wastewater, remove harmful organisms, solid wastes, and nutrients from domestic wastewater, then return the treated water for agricultural uses. Read and interpret meters and gauges that monitor the purification process and operation such as flow meters, DO and pH reading instruments, Level transmitters, etc… for use this information to control the pumps, and valves that move the wastewater through the treatment processes and dispose of the waste materials. Also collect wastewater samples, operate chemical-feeding devices, and perform laboratory tests such as BOD, COD, TSS, N compounds, etc. In addition make minor repairs on equipments. Using computer to monitor and regulate processes and equipments. Increasingly, make usual operation of the plants as in the operation and maintenance manual.
For water treatment plant the responsibility is the purification of water from the well, remove the sulfur compounds by desulphurization, remove hardness by softening, and add chlorine for potable use. Maintain the water treatment plant systems in order to ensure the availability of a clean community water supply. Inspect service and repair components of the water treatment plant including water pumps, pipes, water storage vessels, chemical treatment equipment controls, and valves. Ensure an adequate supply of water for human consumption and fire fighting activities. Also perform laboratory tests such as free chlorine, hardness, and heavy metals (sometimes), etc. In addition, prepare work orders for servicing and repairs and arrange for major repairs. Increasingly, establish preventive maintenance program and prepare work activity and work order reports.

Study of designing and monitoring of a type of decentralized wastewater treatment system called (BioPack) implemented by NAW&Co. Amman, and perform laboratory tests for the regular samples.
