• Monitor the quality of work produced by the Contractor at all stages
• Check and approve all materials prior to their incorporation into the works
• Check and review all material test results
• Determine the suitability of on-site and off-site materials to be used in the project and organize field and laboratory tests, conducted by others, on construction materials to ascertain their compliance with the specifications and determine its acceptability for use on the project
• Review and approval of all subcontractors and Material Suppliers involved in the project
• Check that all material Manufacturers/Suppliers are listed in ASHGHAL approved list
• Be responsible for the quality assurance procedure and the materials inspections and testing procedures
• Ensure that there are no delays in the approvals and that the Contractor applies in sufficient time for the renewal permits.
• Review and approve the Contractor’s materials submissions
• Identify non-conforming work and / or materials, maintain records and follow up that corrective action is taken by the contractor and close out each issue. Liaise with the Quality Manager
• Liaise with Resident Engineer to co-ordinate the daily work load
• Report to the Resident Engineer and will be assisted by the Materials Engineer/Materials Inspectors
