Current Responsibilities
Managing the day to day functioning of the Risk Services Department and achieving the targets/ objectives set forth by the Management Team.
Primary Functions
Within the Department:
• Delegation of tasks and responsibility/ authority
• Monitoring/ guiding day to day activities, renewals and insurance placements
• Approving renewal and new business strategies and liaising with senior management on these
Inter-Department:
• Co-ordinating with the Finance Department regarding premium collection/ payments (ensuring Premium Payment Warranties are met with).
• Co-ordination with other departments (such as the Employee Benefits Department) on mutual client renewals and new business prospects.
• Conducting inter-department auditing (process audit, file audit, etc.).
Client Servicing:
Managing insurance portfolio of various Global and Local/ National clients; this involves -
• Conducting Regular meetings with existing clients
• Explain the current insurance covers in place
• Explaining their risk exposures in relation to their business activities
• Suggesting additional insurance covers
• Negotiating Insurance placements/ renewals and packages with insurers in the local and regional market
• Day to Day handling of Insurance Broking and Consultancy work
• Claims Handling
New Business/ Clients:
• Generating new business from existing customers by educating them of their risk exposures
• Attending new client referrals
Reporting to Management:
• Creation/ submission of various routine and on-demand reports
