Responsible for working as part of a team that ensures the safety of company employees and also visitors to the company’s offices.
Duties;
Conducting daily safety toolbox meeting and head counting
Check the physically health and condition of all worker assigned at site before the start of work(must be physical fit / sent home if necessary).
Conducting first day at work safety orientation seminar to all newly / re-hired workers.
Making sure that work stations and seating are suitable for the individuals using them.
Appointing competent people to enforcing Health & Safety rules and regulations.
Having a system for waste disposal to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the workplace.
Walking around the workplace and looking for any hazards.
Ensuring that the causes of an accident are ascertained and that adequate steps taken to prevent their re-occurrence.
Responding to fire alarms and then determining whether a fire exists and if it does then attempting to extinguish the fire.
Presenting health and safety reports at Executive meetings.
Investigating near misses.
Educating new employees on the company’s emergency evacuation procedures in the event of a fire.
Establishing occupational health and safety management programs.
Developing emergency response plans.
Responsible for ensuring that managers, supervisors and employees are carrying out their roles in compliance with the company’s health and safety policies and procedures
Duties;
Ensuring compliance with all current legislation, codes of practice and relevant standards. Investigate accidents and dangerous occurrences.
Serving as the first responder to and investigator of safety incidents and mishaps.
Maintaining proper records.
Ensuring that equipment is installed correctly and safely.
Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing regulatory and compliance data and trends.
Making regular site inspections
Carrying out safety inspections.
Performing root cause analysis for incident/accident investigations.
Producing risk assessments.
Recording and investigating and accidents or incidents.
Conducts an investigation to determine why the accident happened.
Inspect the accident scene and take pictures of any property damage.
Wearing required personal protective equipment and following company safety policies.
Check the stability of scaffolding, ensure that workers use hard hats and protective footwear, and check to make sure employees operate construction equipment in a safe manner.
Keeping up to date with all new legislation & development in H&S and advising the business of any changes.
Carrying out site safety inductions. Identifying staff training requirements.
Maintaining an audit trail of all H&S documents. Assisting in the documentation of contractual agreements with third party organizations.

Participating in workplace safety and health planning meetings.
Assisting in the investigation of accidents.
Identifying hazardous situations that are associated with the accident.
Stop and prevent unsafe actions
Stop the use of unsafe equipment and tools.
Stop work and/or have employees leave a work area.
Investigating all close calls and other safety-related incidents that have occurred within the accident area.
Ensure the results of safety inspections are documented; monitoring the investigation of accidents and injuries; ensuring that corrective actions are taken; and providing recommendations for ways to prevent similar accidents.
Ensure that all accident reports are recorded in a timely, complete, and accurate manner.
