Joined the company in April 2003, with the responsibility to convert gas to electrical power, subsequently promoted to Senior Operator in Mar 2006, further in 2012 the department offered the designation as SCADA Operator and after 6 months of training in SCADA program was promoted to the current position as SCADA Coordinator. Career Growth: • Apr 2012 - Present: SCADA Coordinator • Mar 2006 - Mar 2012: Senior Operator • Apr 2003 - Mar 2006: Turbine Operator Significant Accomplishments: • Demonstrated hands-on role involving a mix of operating equipment, calibrating instruments and maintaining and managing systems to control the plant and maximise output. • Proactively identified safety violations in SCADA control systems, successfully implemented a response system to improve quality, operational standards and efficiency of processes. Key Responsibilities as SCADA Coordinator for Oil Wells Operation & Power Systems • Monitoring, controlling and directing the safe, stable and reliable operation of Oil Wells & Power Systems. • Operating/monitoring the plant from the SCADA system, demonstrating knowledge of operating modern gas and steam turbine plant and equipment as required by the operational demands of the project. • Orchestrating wide spectrum of activities for establishing robust operating policies, troubleshooting problems or abnormal occurrences, advising/optimizing procedures to ensure minimum disruption in plant operations • Coordinating work with process engineers, project leads, foreman technicians etc. to aid in resolving power system SCADA alarms and/or abnormal operating conditions. • Performing walk-around inspection of all equipment/system under control, checking for any physical or operating condition abnormality; analyzing and reporting any operating parameter deviation, serious damages or malfunctioning to expert mechanics.
Key Responsibilities as Senior Operator for Solar Gas Turbine, Power Systems and Switchgear • Carried out Gas Turbine inspection, initiated start-up and shutdown in Oil Wells Operation, maintained and repaired gas turbine engines and monitored its speed and temperature, pressure levels as required. • Checked and ensured that Solar Gas Turbine, Power Systems and Switchgear are operational at all times. Balanced the turbine at rated speed and maintain the Voltage, PF and Frequency of the Generator. • Assisted in isolating/ de-isolation of the equipment for maintenance plant, to ensure minimum down time in a safe, structured and cost effective manner while ensuring high standards are maintained and continuously improved. • Maintained optimum combustion efficiency in all air and fuel to comply with temperature level up to the required levels. • Recorded in the logbook the data operating of the machinery and equipment, the starting and stopping operations of the Turbines & Generators. • Executed a comprehensive shut-down procedure including normal and emergency shutdown of the Turbine. • Develop robust work scopes to ensure that maintenance and project related work is completed that will enhance the reliability and profitability of the facility in accordance with organizational standards and procedures. • Responded instantly to crisis such as power failure, instrument air failure; scheduled corrective and preventive maintenance to ensure operational performance meets specified standards. • Ensured full compliance with procedures providing safe execution of maintenance, repair and adjustment work on equipment with varying range of load conditions.
Key Responsibilities as Turbine Operator for Solar Gas Turbine, Power Systems and Switchgear: • Initiated/performed safe and reliable preparation, start-up shut down, operation and monitoring of Solar Gas Turbine, Power Systems and Switchgear. • Responsible for routine, preventive, project management of planned overhauls and break down maintenance of assigned gas turbines in order to reduce meantime between failures. • Performed manual starting and shutting down of gas turbine generator, steam turbine generator and balance of plant equipment. • Analyzed plant systems utilizing diagnostic tools of the digital control system, utilized knowledge of power plant electrical systems and electrical protection systems. • Started the engine of the turbine and controlled its speed and temperature, pressure levels based on project requirement.
