Enforcement of approved Safety, Health, Environment and Security Procedures to manage operational risks and prevent harm to personnel, environment and equipment on site. Responsible for that the safety is given highest priority, total compliance to safety rules & regulations and that safety is not compromise throughout the life span of the project. As HSE Advisor, I managed for all newly engaged project personnel, site visitors and top management staff; are provide safety induction / orientation before commencing any assigned task on site. As an effective communicator, I developed and delivered monthly and weekly TBT activity to all site staff as per their site role and activity.
► Report directly to the Project Manager and Construction Manager.
► Carry out any other duties that may be assigned by the hierarchy.
► Review contractor’s & subcontractors’ Health, Safety and Environmental plans and ensure that they are in conformation with approved Project S.H.E. plan.
► To ensure that all risks are well anticipated and reduced as much as possible by the contractor / subcontractor and effectively monitoring the contractor / subcontractor during construction activities.
► Ensure full compliance with HSE requirements for all pipeline construction activities carried out on site(s).
► To organize bi-weekly site-tour with contractor HSE personnel on site(s); identify unsafe act, unsafe condition etc and ensure they are closed out.
► Facilitate and support contractor’s and subcontractors’ S.H.E. personnel in the close-out of safety actions.
► Actively participate in the pre-mobilization of project equipment (e.g. earth moving machines, tippers, vehicles) on site or off site; preparation of the inspection report(s) and submit same to the client.
► Ensure that third party equipment is adequately pre-mobbed before used on site(s) and properly maintained.
► Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the client’s approved construction procedures as well as local and international recommended codes and standards.
► Ensure that all equipment mobilized for the project are suitable; fit for purpose; safe for use and in good working condition and are serviced as at when due.
► Ensure that safety is given highest priority, total compliance to safety rules & regulations and that safety is not compromise throughout the life span of the project.
► Ensure all newly engaged project personnel, site visitors and top management staff; are given safety induction / orientation before embarking any assigned task on site(s).
► Liaise with client representatives on HSS&E matters and ensure that safety standards & procedures address both operational risks and client requirements.
► Verify that lead activities and measures are in place to achieve the HSSE goals.
► Ensure that all incidents / accidents cases are reported within 24 hours and the lessons learnt communicated to all personnel on site(s).
► Responsible for enforcement of approved Safety, Health, Environment and Security procedures to manage operational risks and prevent harm to personnel, environment and equipment on site(s).
► Actively participate in performing HSSE audits of contractor and subcontractors in accordance with specified client’s requirements and perform additional audits, where necessary.
► Ensure the daily, weekly and monthly project S.H.E. statistics; monthly S.H.E. achievement; monthly emergency (fire) drill report; and monthly incident tracking register are prepared and documented for future references.
Achievement: My immense contribution resulted in staff safety awareness, participation and training and the Company meeting her yearly safety set targets.
Conducting regular security and safety patrols to monitor for any potential threats or hazards. Implementing and enforce security protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry best practices and legal requirements. Coordinating with other departments and stakeholders to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to prepare for potential disasters. Investigating security incidents and safety violations, collect evidence, and report findings to management and law enforcement if necessary. i was involved in Monitoing surveillance equipment and respond to alarms and other security notifications in a timely manner. As a traner was responsible for Training to employees on security and safety protocols and conduct regular safety and security awareness campaigns.
► Routine Beta-Gamma dose rate surveys are made of general access areas of the plant RCA (Radiation Controlled Areas).
► Special Beta-Gamma dose rate surveys are made on need basis for jobs that are carried out in normally inaccessible (i.e. high radiation) areas.
► Smear survey method or portable contamination monitors (i.e. Ramda, Teledector, Underwater detector) are used to assess any loose contamination on equipment or in plant area.
► Issuance of radiation work permits in RCA.
► Release of equipment, tools, and materials being removed from radiation controlled areas.
► Contaminated items, which are required to be decontaminated.
► Packaged and tagged in accordance with the station radiation control standards.
