• Safety:
Carries out statutory inspections as required and initiate corrective action where necessary
Demonstrate compliance to company policies and procedures relating to Safety Health, Environment and quality(SHEQ) policies
• Production and Maintenance-
Coordinate day to d ay production and maintenance planning, execution and auditing
Discuss daily problems, incidents, production and problem solving
Liaise and synchronize plant maintenance schedules/activities with engineering department
Discuss daily problems, incidents, production bottlenecks and problem solving
Ensure targets and customer satisfaction accomplishment
• Cost:
Ensure cost effective and economical production plant
• Human resource:
Manage subordinates which includes discipline, timesheets, log sheets, over inspections and employee relations Creating a continuous improvement and winning culture
Ensure proper utilization of Information Management system
• Process improvement:
Process flowsheet design, optimization planning, improvement, optimization, control and Equipment sizing
Performing plant efficiencies, running projects in the plant, sampling campaigns and test works
Standby and be available for call-outs should the need arise
• Participate in daily production briefing
• Refining of gold
• Reagents control and dosage
• Adherence to methods and recording unfamiliar observations
• Process evaluation and modification where necessary
• Prioritisation of batches
• Recording results on log sheets and identifying trends
• Ensure timely delivery of quality output and meeting targets
• Reporting all defects
• Maintain housekeeping throughout the working area
• Maximising throughput while minimising waste
• Ensure utilisation of proper PPE for each mineral refining
• Ensure work is done safely according to standards
• Reporting: To Area Manager
• Attending production briefing with the Area manager and other Foreman
• Integrate, compile and present production reports, analyze information and identify trends
• Documents management
• Coordinate day to day plant, mining production and maintenance.
• Planning and achieving production targets while ensuring availability of resources
• Ensure optimum plant capacity, availability and utilization
• Review on production, plant stoppages and bottlenecks.
• Ensure application and adherence of LEAN production principles
• Liaise with other departments to achieve or modify strategic plans
• Effectively manage production teams on shift cycles.
• Handling disciplinary enquiries
• Arrange relevant training, development, coaching and direct ion of employees.
• Ensure targets are clear and labour productivity is optimum
• Continuously review potential for improvement in production or related processes.
• Process optimization, monitoring, control updating process strategy and commissioning.
• Mining area costing, sampling campaigns and test works supervision
• Manage section budget and implementation of cost saving initiatives for a cost effective operation
• Ensure timely delivery of quality production output
• Creation, modification and enforcement of S.O.P’s
• Ensure compliance to health, safety, quality and environmental standards
• Investigation of accidents and incidents
• Ensure availability and proper utilisation of P.P.E
• Ensure risk assessments and P.T.O’s are done
