November 2004 - June 2011, Started as Sales Associate and Gemologist (3 years). This position included creating sales for high end jewelry and watches, case maintenance, case display, case counts and product knowledge and grading and writing appraisals for jewelry.
Sales Supervisor and Gemologist (3 years). This position included creating and closing sales for staff, overseeing and authorizing discounts, sales & product knowledge training and assisting store manager with sales and store tasks, implementing company policies, attending meetings and grading and writing appraisals for jewelry.
Store Manager and Gemologist (1 year) managing two stores For Diamonds International, St. Lucia. This position included the overall management of two stores and staff allocated to them, motivating staff to achieve targets, enhancing store productivity and target by training and product knowledge, implementing company rules and policies, visual merchandising, case assignments and staff schedules, yearly staff appraisals and day to day store paper work.
Presently working with Diamond's International, Barbados as Sales Supervisor.
August 2004 - September 2004, Buying and Exporting Rough Diamonds with Joseph Saad Michael (Diamond Exporter) in Freetown, Seirra Leone, West Africa.
This training was meant to gain knowledge on the proceedures of Rough Diamond sorting and export to Antwerp for cutting and polishing.
June 2004 - August 2004, Sales Trainee with Poddar & Co. (Diamond Importer, Exporter & Manufacturers), Mumbai, India.
This training provided me with the knowledge on sales and importing and exporting rough and polished diamonds in the wholesale and retail jewelry market.
February 2002 - May 2004, Sales Associate in Jewelry Shop for Starboard Cruise Services, Onboard Cruise Ship Gift Shops.
This position offered me an opportunity to work in a cruise ship based jewelry store with international staff members where team work was the major role in acheiving shop targets and enhancing productivity in a tourist based enviroment with limited discounts available jewelry and watch brands.
My role mainly consisted of counter sales with exceptional customer service, store weekly store upkeep, merchandise display as per company requirements and to cover other shop departments during breaks.
April 2000 - June 2001, Sales Supervisor and Costing of Jewelry and Gems for Mohan's Duty Free Jewelry Store in Jamaica.
This position required me to create and close sales for staff, authorize discounting based on product, oversee day to day paper work, pricing and display of new merchandise in an attractive manner and store data entry.
October 1998 - January 2000, Marketing and Sales Manager for Trust Arks India.
This position required me to recruit, train and build a sales team for direct door to door marketing for daily consumer products by way of hard core sales training, product knowledge, field trips and role play.
May 1997 - August 1998, Marketing and Designing for Dimples Cine Advertising.
My responsibility here was to get short or long term contracts with clients which included small and large business owners for their advertistments in theatres during movie intervals.
I was also solely responsible for designing the ad slides for all colleagues and myself as per the clients requirements, using graphic desingning.
