• Responsible for community sensitization and mobilization regarding reproductive health, general health prevention, psychosocial support, hygiene education in close consultation with the Health Project Manager
• Responsible for the selection and training of Community Health Volunteers (CHV) in close consultation with the Health Project Manager
• Provide technical support and supportive supervision to the CHV’s.
• Assist in the implementation and oversee the CHV’s to select beneficiaries for the cash for health component in the Northern Governorates of Jordan
• Responsible for verification and follow up of beneficiaries who are in need of cash for health
In close consultation with the Health Project Manager and health manager, responsible to assist in the selection, capacity building and supervision of local Community Based Organizations (CBSs)
• Responsible for training, set up and monitoring of peer support groups, care groups and psychosocial support groups implemented by CBO staff
• Adhere to and maintain timely monthly reporting system and ensure that the monthly report on health promotion activities is completed and shared with the Health Project Manager, including collection of weekly data from CHV’s and CBOs
• Ensure close collaboration with coordinators from other NGOs and working groups where necessary
-Provide one on one breastfeeding counseling for mothers experiencing
difficulties breastfeeding, via tent visits, the IYCF caravans and the JHAS
clinic.
- Assist mothers and their children to identify specific feeding support
needs, and refer to medical professionals as required.
- Provide training, demonstration, on-going guidance and support to
provide artificial feeding safely for exceptional cases until the infant is
at 6 months old.
- Identify and refer children for intensive nutritional/medical care as
required.
- Making a weekly home visit for severe malnutrition cases at the camp,
and follow up there nutritional status.
- Lead and conduct support groups for caregivers of children under2 and
pregnant lactating women.
- Keep a register of mothers and children attending education session,
receiving skilled assessment and support and provide monthly reports
- Promote the IYCF-E program and activities to the community and
stakeholders and provide regular feedback on the community perception
of the program.
- Making a nutrition assessments by doing the MUAC measurements
- Responsible for the day to day management of nutrition activities and staff
schedules in all camp locations.
- Ensure IYCF counselors and educators and mobilizers deliver appropriate and
consistent health and nutrition education to mothers and other cares.
- Facilitate the development and scheduling of outreach activities and liaise
with other implementing partners and local authorities to maximize
collaboration and ensure proper coordination of nutrition activities.
- Assist in training to build the capacity if staff/ volunteers at large in IYCE-E
message and optimal IYCF practices
- Conduct evaluation and appraisal of line managed staff.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with partners and
stakeholders in the camp and attend coordination meeting and provide
feedback to management in area of success, improvement and concern in
SCJ field work.
