Head of Technical Department

Responsible for overall Concrete QA/QC and Technical Department Management.
Total Concrete solutions.
Concrete mixes and materials approvals.
Cost control, Concrete R & D works.
Key Result Areas:
• Achieving Technical Department Target as per Company requirements for Ready Mix Concrete and Asphalt plants.
• Maintaining up to date working knowledge of the functional systems for effectively utilizing internal capabilities
• Analyzing business processes to provide solutions to issues/ errors and new requirements, troubleshooting & de-bottlenecking of the application to enhance the efficiency
• Undertaking requirement, project scheduling, resource administration as well as project execution for on-time delivery & administering project co-ordination and status tracking
• Mapping business requirements and leading efforts towards developing & implementing technical processes, also spearheading system implementation & up-gradation initiatives
• Identifying areas of improvement and recommending process modifications to enhance operational efficiencies & monitoring technological changes to enhance productivity
• Ensuring complete in-process quality control and continuous improvement in process capabilities
• Optimize Unibeton profitability and profit growth by pursuing sound and consistent technical & commercial judgment. Ensuring that the technical department is efficiently resourced with personnel and equipment, where deficiencies or opportunities for improvement are identified recommend appropriate action, implement as agreed
• Ensure that all activities comply with current company policy and legislation in particular with respect to Health & Safety.
• Actively participate in the management of the Unibeton business, management of Unibeton Technical Department, ensure a high level of service to internal and external customers
• Provide leadership and maintain good employee relationships to optimize individual and overall business performance.
• Identify and implement measures to improve material quality and/or manufacturing costs in conjunction with Production department
• Develop and maintain relationships with key personnel within consultant, architectural practices, engineering practices, and account holding companies
• Keep abreast of technical developments and issues within the cementitious materials, concrete, aggregates and wider construction industry.
• Optimize both internal & external communications providing timely and succinct reports.
• Management of technical manual and library.
• Represent Company at relevant industry events and forums. Maintain accurate and concise records of all functions of technical department and the wider business where necessary
• Develop & evaluate new products, process technology & business opportunities and participate in the implementation of such
• Planning a training program of new staff
