Responsibilities include, conducting and coordinating field surveys, data collection and analysis, literature research as well as administrative work
• Performed DNA & RNA extractions from saliva, blood, stool, organs, and bacteria
• Quantified extracted DNA & RNA using Nanodrop, 2000C
• Conducted gene expression analysis and genotyping using Applied Biosystems, Real-Time PCR
• Worked closely with the Environmental Education team
• Helped coordinate a number of events including workshops, seminars, conferences, and student competitions • Worked with the Waste Management & Recycling team assisting in data collection and analysis.
• Dealt with the EEG’s Environmental Management System to ensure continued certification to ISO 14001
• Worked as part of the Marine Conservation Program
• Reported on the Significance of Marine Environments for Emirati Culture and Shark Trade in the UAE Market • Helped translate a number of documents prior to their publications
