Total years of experience :14 years, 9 Months
During my time at Saengthong Vitthaya School I have been teaching on a mini English programme and then managing and I.E.P course. My role on the I.E.P course involved service development in terms of curriculum, recruiting and teaching. In addition, I have been responsible for developing and managing behavioural modification strategy and policy for difficult to manage children. This has been successful yet challenging as I have had to bring new behavioural methods into a system and work with others to learn and accept these methods. I have also had to use reinforcement and CBT techniques with children from a different cultural background with English as their second language. I believe the implementation of this programme has been a success. However, after two years I am looking forward to getting back to full time therapeutic work.
At Oakview I was employed as a full time psychologist. I was responsible for designing and implementing the therapeutic time table, which included individual and group therapy sessions. This included working with a primary diagnosis of psychosis, substance misuse or personality disorder, focusing on assessment, treatment and relapse prevention. I have been responsible for service development and ordering and implementing psychometric and neuropsychological assessments. I wrote reports and attended
At this Youth Offending Team I was employed primarily to conduct mental health screening assessments on all young people entering the service. This involved the use of a clinical interview and psychometric measures. Following this I provided the case workers and the team with a formulation of the young person’s strengths, difficulties, and psychological needs. It also involved the use of the YOIS recording programme which I am efficient at using. In addition, I have designed an anger management group which I was facilitating with the case managers. I also provided individual therapy sessions based on the young persons need, which is determined via the screening assessment and an extended assessment if required. I attendws regular meetings with other professionals and multi-agency meetings to formulate care plans for young people.
I was required to complete all psychological assessment and treatment of clients including working with personality disorder, mental health, and substance misuse as well as offending behaviour programme. Cygnet Lodge Lewisham is a new and developing service and as such I had the opportunity to develop the psychology service. This involved decision making of the admission assessment procedure and other assessments, designing of and running groups and individual sessions, including developing a full group programme alongside the Occupational Therapist, attending CPA and MDT meetings and completing all psychological reports. I was also responsible for supervising others in the use of the HCR-20.
