Engineering and Construction Mission Overview

Responsible for ensuring all mechanical equipment deliverables (rotating and static) comply with WOOD, UOP specifications, standards, and process requirements. Duties include reviewing and approving mechanical engineering documents—such as MDS, performance requirements, drawings, calculation reports, and hydraulic studies. Actively participate in engineering meetings, HAZOP/HAZID reviews, and 3D model reviews. Collaborate with process and instrumentation teams to resolve technical queries and validate data. Oversee TBE approvals, support vendor clarifications, and attend FAT for both static and rotating equipment.

On the construction and commissioning front, review method statements and lifting plans for major equipment (e.g., tanks, spheres, columns). Ensure construction sequencing aligns with approved plans and standards. Coordinate with planning teams on pending tasks, verify mechanical quantities, and monitor welding logs. Prepare weekly progress reports and contribute to field change discussions and issue resolution.

Actively involved in assessing the impact of design modifications and new projects in collaboration with central technical centers . Responsible for preparing technical documentation for procurement, including specifications, site constraints, layout limitations, and safety and quality requirements, in coordination with key departments (maintenance, quality, safety, and process). Supports technical bid evaluations and participates in the selection of suitable technical designs.

Ensures compliance with project specifications by attending weekly engineering progress meetings and reviewing all engineering deliverables with relevant disciplines. Participates in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to validate performance and repeatability. Oversees on-site installation and commissioning activities, including Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), 3D geometric checks, and final acceptance procedures.

HVAC and Mechanical Maintenance Coordination :

Supported the contractor during the pre-opening phase by inspecting and validating HVAC and mechanical equipment installations in line with project specifications. Prepared and reviewed preventive maintenance plans for HVAC systems, plumbing, and rotating equipment. Managed fault response and repairs, including HVAC, pool systems, and plumbing issues. Supervised technical teams to ensure equipment reliability and availability. Participated in both preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring water quality standards for open and closed circuits. Attended coordination meetings and provided regular progress reports to senior management.

Quality Management System Coordinator - ISO 9001:2008

Oversaw the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System. Ensured staff awareness through training and monitored KPI performance in collaboration with process managers based on audits and client feedback. Supported process updates and documentation in line with standards. Managed internal audit planning and communication, and led the resolution of non-conformities using quality tools (Pareto, 5M, QR/QC). Participated in annual and biannual management reviews to drive continuous improvement.

Technical Proposal and Site Preparation Engineer

Reviewed ITB documents to identify key requirements and assess steel structure quantities and maintenance needs. Clarified technical details with the client and prepared comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, considering productivity, timelines, and resource planning. Managed service orders and coordinated site preparation activities for project start-up.

Conducted internal and external inspections to ensure static equipment compliance with applicable, Algerian regulations, and previous inspection records. Performed pre-welding checks, verified WPS/PQR, and welder qualifications. Witnessed hydrostatic tests and prepared conformity and non-conformity reports. Reviewed and approved design calculations and material specs. Also carried out mechanical inspections for lifting equipment in line with national standards.
